It is a slow news day today. News pundits like myself are obligated to rehash old stories and pretend there is something new to report. That is one of many problems with having 24/7 news.

Take, for example, the redacted affidavit for the Mar-a-Lago raid. The release of it was new so it will be reported all weekend. However, it will be repeated like beating a dead horse because news media get more views when it is bad news, hence why Trump losing was in Fox New’s best interest.

Speaking of Trump, we must talk about the speculations of a 2024 run. Yes, we must speak about this dead horse because every news outlet is desperate to be the first one to say their prediction was correct.

Many on the Pro-Trump side have stated that they wished Trump announced his run after the FBI raid. However, others, myself included, feel that would take the voter’s attention away from the dreadful economy and rising crime, the fuel for a red wave. We need to get over the hurdle of midterms before looking at 2024.

Whether or not Trump will run, there has been speculation on other candidates who may attempt a 2024 run.

Conservative Brief reported:

While talk about a 2024 vice-presidential pick is of course premature, conversations about adding Stefanik to a future Trump ticket have gained steam in recent weeks at Mar-a-Lago and in other Republican circles, sources said. Current and former advisers and others in Trump’s orbit have privately argued that the New York Republican, who replaced Rep. Liz Cheney as the no. 3 House Republican last year, is a fierce and loyal attack dog, and Trump would benefit from tapping a woman for vice president should he run again.

Two people familiar with the matter said Trump has been surveying close friends and allies on what they think of Stefanik, one of several Republican women he is possibly eyeing for the potential VP slot, though he has not ruled out a few male contenders, too. One of these people said the former President believes Stefanik has undergone a genuine transformation – leaving the moderate wing of the party to join its increasingly powerful “America First” flank.

“There is a part of Trump who thinks he needs a female VP. He definitely likes her, likely because of how effusive she is to him,” an adviser to the former President said.

“President Trump thinks very highly of Elise Stefanik. … She has been talked about in circles close to him as a potential vice president,” Chris Ruddy, a longtime friend of the former President, said. “And there’s a feeling among a lot of people on the Republican side that they need to have a woman on the ticket this time.”

This idea of needing a woman on the ticket falls under the “weak Republicans” plan. They do this all the time, and it never plays out well. Elise Stefanik is like a tiger hiding in the jungle. She is one of the few Representatives who ask straightforward questions and doesn’t waste time grandstanding.

Elise Stefanik would be a great VP choice. The problem with needing a woman on the ticket is that it will look like Republicans are playing catch up to the Democrats.

It looked terrible when McCain did it with Sarah Palin, and it will look terrible if Trump or any other Republican does it. Sarah Palin made McCain’s candidacy more palatable for people like me, but it still looked like old-timer Republicans saying they are hip and cool like Democrats.

For now, Republicans need to focus on cleaning out the RINOS. We do need to get with the times as a platform and as a party. This party used to be radical because they believed slavery was wrong. Right now, we have Republicans in the Pedo-run Linclon Project and Liz Cheney who want to keep Republicans as weak followers.

If we get a red wave, we want to see that wave drown out all the evil in Washington, D.C. We don’t want to see Republicans gain leadership and then do nothing. We want leaders with new ideas and action plans. What the Republican party needs are more Captin Kirks and fewer Spocks.
