Recently, President Joe Biden was seen joking about ice cream prior to his address concerning the shooting incident that occurred at a christian school in Nashville.
While addressing an occasion for women hosted by the Small Business Association, Biden made a joke about his love for ice creams and the amount of desserts he has stored inside his refrigerator.
He stated:
“My name is Joe Biden. I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband. And I eat Jeni’s ice cream, chocolate chip. I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream.”
He added:
“By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs. You think I’m kidding — I’m not.”
A few minutes later, he started addressing the horrifying incident that happened recently at the Nashville school and called it a “heartbreaking” incident.
Instead of realizing that “there’s more to learn” concerning the incident, Biden didn’t hesitate to restate his plan to outlaw “assault weapons.”
Biden stated:
“I call on Congress, again, to pass my assault weapons ban. It’s about time that we begin to make some more progress.”
He added:
“We have to do more to stop gun violence; it’s ripping our communities apart — ripping the soul of this nation. And we have to do more to protect our schools, so they aren’t turned into prisons.”
Later on, he came back to the ice creams and started praising it.
He stated:
“The businesses represented in this room stretch across industries from restaurants to architectural firms to hardware stores, plus Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. By the way, it is splendid. You think I’m joking. If I were allowed to take you upstairs, we got a whole freezer full of Jeni’s chocolate chip ice cream.
He continued:
“You know, it’s pretty dull when you’ve been in public life as long as I have and you’re known for two things: chocolate chip ice cream and Ray-Ban sunglasses. But what the hell, you know?”
