Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) threw a fit as a mob of protesters hounded her movie night last Monday.
A video posted by FreedomNewsTV featured protestors attacking the “democratic socialist” lawmaker.
They demand AOC to outright condemn Israel for retaliating against Hamas, who broke their ceasefire and launched an attack on central Israel on October 7, killing more than 1,300 Israelis while kidnapping 200 others, some of whom have been already murdered by the terrorists.
AOC, who was with her fiancee Riley Roberts, was repeatedly questioned why she had not yet called Israel’s counterattack “genocide.”
The New York congresswoman calmly confronted the demonstrators and said, “I need you to understand that this is not ok.”
“It’s not ok that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it,” one protestor snapped back.
“You’re lying,” blasted Cortez as she continued to walk away from the crowd, but pro-Hamas rallyists hounded her.
“Over 30,000 people are dead, AOC,” another protestor says. “You can’t just say it for once? Just say the word. That’s it! That’s all we want you to say!” says one protestor.
AOC’s fiance, Roberts, was even forced to respond and demanded the demonstrators to stop.
Cortez then completely lost control, and FreedomNewsTV edited their video of her to take the clip out of context:
“…And you’re gonna cut this you’re gonna clip this so that it’s completely out of context. I already said that it was. And y’all are just going to pretend that it wasn’t over and over again. It’s fucked up, man! You’re not helping your people! And you’re not helping them! You’re not helping them!”
Cortez received backlash earlier from New York City’s Democratic Socialists of America, a political organization of which the lawmaker was a member, as she left a critical remark on a pro-Hamas protest in NYC after Hamas launched a terrorist attack on Israel.
The NYC DSA reposted the demonstration on X, but was later deleted.
The New York lawmaker reacted to the demonstration that was not received well by the DSA.
“It should not be hard to shut down hatred and antisemitism where we see it. That is a core tenet of solidarity,” remarked Cortez.
“The bigotry and callousness expressed in Times Square on Sunday were unacceptable and harmful in this devastating moment. It also did not speak for the thousands of New Yorkers who are capable of rejecting both Hamas’ horrifying attacks against innocent civilians as well as the grave injustices and violence Palestinians face under occupation.”
