Former US President Donald Trump has been trumpeting the call to “Drain the Swamp,” which began during the 2016 presidential election. His idea aims to overhaul the entire federal government. The phrase encapsulates the GOP leader’s intention to eliminate corruption, reduce the influence of lobbyists and special interest groups in Washington D.C., and reform America’s political system.
The Project 2025
This campaign has now reached to a higher level as conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation launched The Project 2025 initiative. The plan is to hire thousands of GOP members to Washington D.C. “to replace existing federal civil service workers.”
The replacements will be massive, says Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of Heritage. The institution in an interview with the New York Times has highlighted that they were already able to identify potential recruits. Heritage is also setting up a personnel database, which aims to list 20,000 potential administration officials by the end of 2024.
If re-elected, right-wing organizations have joined Project 2025’s Advisory Board to provide personnel and prepare policy recommendations for his administration.
The coalition is now backed by 75 member organizations and is growing as the 2024 presidential race moves closer.
“In 2016, the conservative movement was not prepared to flood the zone with conservative personnel,” Dr. Roberts said in the same interview. “On Jan. 20, 2025, things will be very different. This database will prepare an army of vetted, trained staff to begin dismantling the administrative state from Day 1.”
The Project intends to conduct widespread replacements that will reach up to 4,000 political appointees. These appointees form part of what the former President calls the “deep state,” a discreet network of federal officials who are responsible for implementing policies and decision-making.
Immigration
Trump also intends to implement the largest domestic deportation operation in American history. His target is those who harbor “jihadist sympathies” and invalidate visas of individuals who uphold anti-American and antisemitic views.
He also announced that, if re-elected, he would position thousands of troops who are stationed overseas to immigration enforcement and build more walls to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in.
He also hinted at the idea of reimposing his travel ban and expanding it to “keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the country.”
He also promised to conduct “ideological screening” for immigrants.
Trade policy
The Republican lead candidate for the presidency also declared his trade policy: 1) impose 10% tariffs on most foreign goods. His administration will also implement policies if trade partners engage in other unfair trading practices.
Trump will also call for Congress to enact the “Trump Reciprocal Trade Act”, which authorizes the president to impose a reciprocal tariff on any country that imposes one on the U.S.
During his four-year term, Trump wants to phase out Chinese imports of essential goods. Along with this, Trump wants to ban Chinese companies from owning vital industries in the US and will force Chinese companies to sell any holdings “that jeopardize America’s national security.”
Foreign policy
Trump expressed his intentions to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including halting the “endless flow of American treasure to Ukraine.”
In terms of the war against the Hamas terrorists, the former presidents expressed support for Israel in their goal to “destroy” the terror group.
Housing
Trump calls for the construction of tent cities on large open parcels of inexpensive land to keep the strays out of the streets. He also intends to work with local authorities to prohibit urban camping.
He also wants to bring back large mental institutions for those who are “severely mentally ill” or “dangerously deranged.”
Education
The MAGA advocate vows to eliminate the Department of Education. At the same time, he wants to take part in administering local school districts and colleges.
Trump wants to provide funding in favor of states and school districts that abolish teacher tenure, implement merit pay to acknowledge good teachers, and allow the direct election of school principals by parents.
Amid incidents of school shootings, he wants school districts to allow trained teachers to carry concealed weapons. He also recommends that schools hire veterans, retired police officers, and other licensed gun owners as armed school guards.
He also wants schools to promote “patriotic education.” For the former president, it is important that schools “teach students to love their country, not to hate their country like they’re taught right now.”

No wonder lefties’ heads are exploding! My heart is racing with excitement.
