U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., published declassified financial information from White House Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci and accused him of lying to the Senate when he stated that his financial disclosure forms were public. While Fauci’s financial disclosure forms are available through the National Institute of Health, they are not part of the same searchable database as those of many other government officials.
Marshall said in a statement to Fox News Digital that Fauci is “more interested in being a media celebrity and appearing on magazine covers than he is in being honest with the American people and holding China accountable for the COVID epidemic that has stolen the lives of nearly 850 thousand Americans.” “Just as he misled the American people about sending taxpayer dollars to Wuhan, China, to fund gain-of-function research, masks, testing, and more,” Marshall continued, “Dr. Fauci was completely dishonest about his financial disclosures being open to the public — it’s no surprise he is America’s least trusted bureaucrat.”
“At the end of the day,” the Kansas Republican said, “Dr. Fauci must be held accountable to all Americans who have been litigating and asking this information but don’t have the authority of a Senate office to ask for it.” He went on to say that for “these reasons,” he intends to “present the FAUCI Act so that financial reports like this are made public and freely accessible online to every American.” Marshall’s office obtained the doctor’s most current statement after making a request to the National Institutes of Health via the Office of Government Ethics (NIH). While Fauci’s financial disclosures are technically open to any member of the public who requests them, they are not published in a publicly accessible public database and may take months to get.
