Many have had to endure the nonsensical ramblings of the tortured and addled mind that is President Joe Biden. Presumably, everyone reading this article would qualify. But this strain isn’t aggregated uniquely to Biden’s time as President. It was just revealed that former President Barack Obama often had his fill of Biden’s shenanigans and would often voice, or at least show, some of his frustration. There is not much that former President Obama and this writer have in common. However, one salient agreement seems to be that we both are annoyed by Joe Biden whenever he…well, speaks.
It has, in fact, just been reported that:
New York Magazine national correspondent Gabriel Debenedetti has a new book out about Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Gabriel pulls back the curtain and reveals the true relationship between the two men.
And it ain’t pretty. In what may be the only thing the GOP agrees with Obama on, the book claims Barack was annoyed by Biden’s constantly rambling. Biden is truly an awful public speaker but Obama couldn’t turn the channel like the rest of us.
But he did tap his arm in meetings to tell him to shut the f*ck up according to the book. The Daily Mail got an early copy of the book and reported: “As Obama saw it, Biden tended to ‘ramble, clearly loving every minute of it.’
“Obama told his close advisor David Axelrod: ‘Joe Biden is a decent guy but man, that guy can just talk and talk. It’s an incredible thing to see.’
“Obama said that he felt Biden represented a generation of Senators who had ‘overseen Washington’s decline into impracticality.’
“When Biden held court during George W. Bush’s confirmation hearings for secretary of state nominee Condoleezza Rice, Obama gave a staffer a note saying: ‘Shoot. Me. Now,’ the book claims.
“In early 2007 Biden further damaged his relationship with Obama with an interview in the New York Observer in which he called him the ‘first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice looking guy.’
“…Biden ‘rolled his eyes behind Obama’s back at his aloofness and glad-handing with fellow pols.’
The New York Post went on to report that:
Obama, however, thought that Biden’s repeated gaffes in public would give their rivals “ammunition.”
Their relationship improved when Biden became Obama’s right-hand man and they hosted weekly meetings together, the book claims.
But after the Democrats suffered heavy losses in the 2010 midterm elections, Obama considered asking Hillary Clinton to be his running mate in 2012, according to the book — even though Obama denied that rumor publicly at the time.
Biden was reportedly “distraught” over the prospect of being replaced, the book says.
Then, in 2012, Biden was accused of “betrayal” for publicly saying they both supported gay marriage — despite Obama planning to make the revelation in an upcoming TV interview.
Biden’s move left Obama “pissed,” according to the book.
That would make two of us, Mr. Obama. Biden has truly come into his own as a gaffe machine. Obama has, indeed, seemed to have understood this more than others and for longer. We reported last month that former White House doctor under the Obama administration, Ronny Jackson, said that he was more than a little concerned about the mental state of Biden. He actually went on record to say that Biden, “…is not fit to be our president right now.”
