Many teachers are “social justice warriors” who attribute educational failure to politicians, according to Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers.
Weingarten made the admission during a back-to-school town hall with Education Secretary Miguel Cardona and several other special guests on Thursday.
During the town hall, Weingarten was asked about the “divisiveness” that has been seen in education in recent years.
Weingarten responded by saying that there are “a lot of social justice warriors” who are teachers.
She added that these teachers blame politicians for the problems in education and that they need to be “called out” on this.
Weingarten also said that teachers need to be “part of the solution” to the problems in education and that they need to work together with politicians to find solutions.
The head of the largest teachers union in the United States has admitted that many teachers are “social justice warriors” who blame politicians for the problems in education.
Weingarten made the admission during an interview with MSNBC’s Joy Reid, claiming that teachers are forced to bring their politics into the classroom as a result of lawmakers attacking them.
“Very few teachers thought that they were going into teaching to be social justice warriors,” she said. “But when you have a Secretary of Education who’s trying to take away their rights, who’s trying to take away their profession, and when you have state legislatures that are doing the same thing, it’s hard not to be a social justice warrior.”

Weingarten went on to claim that teachers are burnt out because they are unable to answer the “questions of children” and that they have to be the “mask police.”
According to Weingarten, there wasn’t enough evidence to dispel the notion that masks should be used in school settings.
More and more educators have been persuading their pupils to adopt a particular worldview in recent years, without the knowledge of parents. In most cases, these instructors promote far-left views on society, history, and economics.
Randi Weingarten, the President of the American Federation of Teachers, has now come out and admitted that many teachers are “social justice warriors.” Speaking to Politico, Weingarten said:
“There are a lot of social justice warriors in the teaching profession.”
She went on to blame politicians for the current situation, saying:
“I think sometimes people in politics don’t understand how much teachers have always been on the front lines of social justice issues.”
Weingarten blamed the burnout on politicians, saying that they have not respected the profession or its workers. She also claimed that being owed respect is one of the reasons people want to become teachers.
She continued: “It hasn’t been easy in the last two years. The inequity, the injustice, the lack of opportunities, the lack of a level playing field…
“Teachers essentially are the first responders to all of this, and what they ask for is they ask for respect.”
Many people have noted that Weingarten’s comments confirm what many have long suspected: that the teaching profession has been hijacked by a political agenda. Some have even called for her to resign from her position.
