Days after the assassination, President Donald Trump was widely praised because not only did he dodge a bullet in a split second, but he also used the time to boost people’s morale while his ears were all bleeding.
Paying homage to the president was Tampa Bay’s short-stopper Taylor Walls. This comes hours after President Joe Biden announced that he is bestowing the burden to his running mate, Kamala Harris, and withdrawing from the competition.
On other days, this would be just another baseball game, but on Sunday, he gathered extra support from the audience when he reached second base, raised his fist, and mouthed, “Fight, fight, fight,” channeling in his inner Donald Trump.

Later on, Tampa Bay won the game against New York Yankees. Walls did not post anything about his actions during the game, but his wife, Hallie, shared a highlight on Instagram.
It seems the former president is gaining a wider fan base in major league baseball.
That same day, the St. Louis Cardinals did a similar act after their outfielder, Alec Burleson, smacked a 435-foot solo home run.
In celebration, Burleson and teammates placed their right hands on their right ears and pumped their left fists. Some say this was about Trump’s defiant pose moments after he survived his assassination last week.
However, after the game, the team denied it was referring to Trump.
Fans on social media noticed this and raved at their teams for their Trump-inspired celebrations.
Graham Allen wrote on X, “The country is UNITING behind Donald Trump.”
Another X user said, “Trump has inspired the entire nation.”
“Trump tributes have taken over the MLB,” weighed another.
Jessico Bowman also quipped, “As a baseball mom, this makes my heart sing with joy!”
“This is one of the first times we’ve ever seen major-league baseball support America first,” said Kacee Allen.
Aside from MLB, many prominent athletes expressed support for Trump after the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania, last week.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers shared one of Trump’s images during the troubling incident on his Instagram story. He also shared 50 Cent’s edited album cover, which replaced the photo of the rapper with an image of the former president.
Texas backup quarterback also posted a similar image on his Instagram story.
Meanwhile, on X, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner tweeted the viral photo of Trump after he was shot at the rally, with the caption “ladies & gentlemen…President Donald Trump.”
Gardner seemed to gain backlash after his post expressing support for the former president, which led him to delete it.
He wrote on X, “Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, I love you. Most importantly, I love my life.”
In another tweet, the cornerback quipped, “In all honesty, I never voted before and am unfamiliar with politics, but I do think it’s odd to judge people based on who they vote for. Maybe it’s not odd and I just don’t understand because I’m not familiar with it. Somebody fill me in.”
