Former President Donald Trump has responded to the news that parts of the Affidavit used to raid his club in Florida, Mar-a-Lago, have been unsealed.
In a statement, Trump said: “Affidavit heavily redacted. Nothing mentioned on ‘Nuclear,’ a total public relations subterfuge by the FBI & DOJ, or our close working relationship regarding document turnover – WE GAVE THEM MUCH.”
Trump went on to say that he believes President Barack Obama must be “very proud right now,” adding that the content of the Affidavit is heavily redacted.
“Obama must be very proud right now. He had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just prior to the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”
Trump has responded to the release of an affidavit related to the FBI’s break-in of his former campaign manager’s home, saying that it shows President Obama’s “hatred” of him.
The Affidavit, which was heavily redacted, was released on Tuesday night and did not mention Trump by name. However, it does refer to a “subject” who is believed to be Trump.
The Affidavit showed that authorities were concerned that Trump might have additional national security information at his private residence. This was based on a review of the 15 boxes recovered by the National Archives in January.

“Judge Bruce Reinhart should NEVER have allowed the Break-In of my home. He recused himself two months ago from one of my cases based on his animosity and hatred of your favorite President, me. What changed? Why hasn’t he recused himself on this case? Obama must be very proud of him right now,” Trump said.
The Affidavit also does not mention the word “Nuclear” about the break-in, something that Trump has been accused of by his opponents.
The Affidavit does mention that the FBI believes there are additional records containing classified information at Mar-a-Lago beyond what has been turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration.
Fox News: “Approximately 20 pages of the 38-page Affidavit were either significantly or fully redacted.
“The FBI said it had “probable cause to believe” that additional records containing classified information, including National Defense Information, would be found on the premises of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home beyond what he had previously turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration, according to the unsealed and heavily-redacted Affidavit used to justify the raid released Friday.”
“The government is conducting a criminal investigation concerning the improper removal and storage of classified information in unauthorized spaces, as well as the unlawful concealment or removal of government records,” the affidavit outlines.
Trump has previously said that he did not know about the raid on his home until after it happened. It is not clear if he was aware of the Affidavit’s existence before its release.
The Affidavit is just the latest development in the ongoing investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia. It is not clear what, if any, information the documents contain that could be damaging to Trump. But there is information the FBI is very concerned about making public, a notion that makes the raid of the former President more and more suspicious.
