U.S. President Joe Biden massacred the name of a black man, Tyre Nichols, who was crucially beaten to death by 5 African-American cops from the Memphis Police Department.
President Biden’s gaffe occurred on Tuesday during his SOTU address, having Nichols’ parents as attendees.
At the start of his speech, Biden stated Nichols’ name correctly as he said:
“Joining us tonight are the parents of Tyre Nichols — welcome — who had to bury Tyre last week. As many of you personally know, there’s no words to describe the heartache or grief of losing a child.”
He added:
“But imagine, imagine if you lost that child at the hands of the law. Imagine having to worry whether your son or daughter came home from walking down the street, playing in the park or just driving a car.”
He continued:
“Most of us in here have never had to have the talk, the talk, that Brown and Black parents have had to have with their children. Beau, Hunter, Ashley, my children — I never had to have the talk with them.”
Before massacring Nichols’ name, Biden kept babbling about improvements he wanted to make in the police department.
He stated:
“And when police officers or police departments violate the public trust, they must be held accountable. With the support — with the support of the families of victims, civil rights groups, and law enforcement, I signed an executive order for all federal officers banning chokeholds, restricting no-knock warrants, and other key elements of the George Floyd Act.”
He added further:
“Let’s commit ourselves to make the words of Tyler’s mom true: Something good must come from this. Something good,”
After the blunder, he was dehumanized for it on Twitter, as he said “Tyler” instead of “Tyre.”
After the heartbreaking video went viral on the internet, in which five black MPD officers could be seen brutally killing Tyre Nichols.
However, some media personalities were still able to figure out a way to accuse “white supremacy” for the incident.
Nichols was an African-American man residing in the city of Memphis. Memphis has a majority of black residents, and various leading seats are also held by black individuals.
However, “white supremacy” is being targeted for the reason of this incident by several media individuals that include CNN’s commentator, Van Jones.
