The spokeswoman for Ron DeSantis’ campaign, Christina Pushaw, drew attention to the Dems. They are upset that the wealthy residents of Martha’s Vineyard now have to experience the consequences of their policies.
“It’s time for the Democrats to put their money where their mouth is and let these migrants stay in their Martha’s Vineyard mansions,” Pushaw said. “They can’t have it both ways – they can’t claim to care about these migrants while also trying to keep them out of their backyard.”
Pushaw’s comments come as the Biden administration faces criticism for handling the migrant crisis at the southern border. While many Democrats have called for compassion for the migrants, some have also expressed concern about the impact that allowing them into the country could have on their communities.
“It’s time for the Democrats to walk the walk and open their homes and wallets to these migrants,” Pushaw said. “If they care about them, they’ll put their money where their mouth is.”
“Wow! This Martha’s Vineyard Democrat doesn’t seem very welcoming or progressive. We don’t have housing for 50 immigrants.”
“Uh, don’t the Obamas have a ten bedroom mansion there? That will fit half of them.
“Martha’s Vineyard claims to be a “sanctuary” jurisdiction that welcomes illegal aliens. Unfortunately, most of those multi-million dollar mansions are summer homes that are vacant most of the year.
“They can be used to house thousands of illegal migrants. Time to walk the walk, Biden voters.
Biden has come under fire from Republicans for handling the migrant crisis at the southern border. Just this week, it was revealed that dozens of migrants had been sent to Martha’s Vineyard, a wealthy enclave in Massachusetts, and to Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence in Washington, D.C.
President Biden: “Republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props. What they’re doing is simply wrong, it’s un-American, it’s reckless.
“We have a process in place to manage migrants at the border. We’re working to make sure it’s safe and orderly and humane.
“Republican officials should not interfere with that process by waging a politically political stance.”
DeSantis has been one of the most vocal critics of Biden’s border policies, and has even sued the administration over its decision to allow migrants to be released into Florida without notifying state officials.
In an interview with Fox News, spokesperson Fred Piccolo said, “It’s time for the Biden Administration to walk the walk. If they’re so concerned about these migrants, then let them stay at the Vice President’s residence or on Martha’s Vineyard.”
He continued, “The American people are tired of this administration using migrants as props to further their political agenda. It’s time for them to put their money where their mouth is and actually do something to help these people.”
It’s unclear if DeSantis’ latest remarks are meant to be serious or if they’re just another way for him to score political points. Either way, it’s clear that the tensions between the two men are only getting worse.
