Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Monday to highlight the positive outcome of a recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The discussion between Trump and Putin occurred as part of ongoing engagements with various global leaders, as Trump positions himself at the forefront of diplomatic efforts to resolve current military conflicts and economic tensions worldwide.
In his message, the former president remarked on the overall “tone and spirit” of the exchange, calling it “excellent.” He also emphasized his commitment to transparency, stating he would be honest with the public if the conversation had not gone well.
Trump went on to express optimism about future economic relations: “Russia wants to do largescale TRADE with the United States when this catastrophic ‘bloodbath’ is over, and I agree,” Trump continued. “There is a tremendous opportunity for Russia to create massive amounts of jobs and wealth. Its potential is UNLIMITED. Likewise, Ukraine can be a great beneficiary on Trade, in the process of rebuilding its Country.”

Trump also disclosed that negotiations are set to begin immediately, with the Vatican being considered as a possible location for the landmark meeting. Following his conversation with Putin, Trump held additional talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
“Let the process begin!” Trump concluded.
Here’s more from Newsweek:
In Russia, President Vladimir Putin addressed reporters, expressing his willingness to work with Ukraine toward a potential peace deal. He emphasized that any agreement must take into account the underlying causes of the conflict, according to the BBC. Earlier on Monday, Zelenskyy posted on X, formerly Twitter, noting that Ukrainian officials had recently held discussions with Russian representatives in Turkey. One outcome of those talks was a tentative agreement on a prisoner exchange.
Ukraine continues to advocate for a 30-day ceasefire, and Zelenskyy has stated his openness to direct dialogue with Putin and other Russian officials. Putin also told reporters, “Contacts between participants in the Istanbul talks have resumed, which gives reason to believe that on the whole we’re on the right track.”
Zelenskyy said in a post on X, “The Ukrainian delegation succeeded in keeping the talks in a dignified manner. All Russian attempts to issue threats were rejected. Ukraine insists on the need for a full and unconditional ceasefire in order to save human lives and to establish the necessary foundation for diplomacy. Such a ceasefire must be long enough and include the possibility of extension.”

Here’s hoping that this will be done.
The Man! The Machine! The Peacemaker! THE BEST
PRESIDENT EVER!!
