For the first time in eight years, President Donald Trump will hold a rally in New York on May 23, Team Trump announced.
The gathering will be at Crotona Park, with a permit for 3,500 people to assemble.
The event comes after a monumental rally at the Jersey Wildwood, New Jersey, where around 100,000 people are said to have attended.
A video posted on X featured Trump’s supporters campaigning for him in the streets holding a banner with the words: “The South Bronx for Donald Trump,” as they chanted “Trump, Trump, Trump.”
The group also posted signs with words saying, “Black Lives MAGA,” and “Black Patriots For Trump Rally. The Bronx. 5/18/24,” “Hochul it’s the Bronx, not duh Bronx,” and Young Black Kids Growing Up In The Bronx Who Don’t Even Know What The Word Computer Is. Governor of NY Kathy Hochul.”
Members of Black Patriots for Trump gathered in a nearby park in South Bronx and called on New Yorkers to vote for Trump.
One speaker remarked, “We want jobs, we want fair housing, we want better schools so our children won’t be accused of not being able to know what a computer is. Build some brand new state-of-the-art computer labs in those schools, make the investments into these communities.”
A woman told others, “Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid. Stand with me. Fight with me.”
“Because I am here for the people. We the people, it is we the people. I am here for the children, the future of our country, for our children. I have grandchildren, I want a better America for our children.”
Trump’s campaign did not call it a traditional rally but dubbed the event as an opportunity for the MAGA to expose the disastrous Joe Biden administration.
The announcement last Friday wrote, “New Yorkers have suffered greatly thanks to Biden’s failed policies.”
“With prices in the Empire State up by 17.5% since Biden took office, New York families continue to suffer from high inflation on everyday goods. In fact, New Yorkers have spent $7,747 more on transportation, $3,542 more on energy, $3,637 more on food, and $3,921 more on shelter on average since January 2021 due to Bidenflation.”
“Both New York City and the state at large have been ravaged by monumental surges in violent crime as a direct result of Biden’s and Democrats’ pro-criminal policies. Murders in New York City are up 23.1% from 2019 levels, while felony assault is up 35.4%. These upticks are incomprehensible and devastating.”
Team Trump’s campaign statement continued, “The Empire State, a place near to President Trump’s heart, has been decimated by Biden.”
“President Trump will ease the financial pressures placed on households and reestablish law and order in New York!”
“We can Make America Great Again by tackling lawlessness head-on, ceasing the endless flow of illegal immigrants across our southern border, and reversing the detrimental effects of inflation by restoring people’s wealth.”
