Trump Welcomed Argentina’s President Javier Milei with a Big Hug

Last Saturday is a special day in history, as Argentina’s Javier Milei and the Make America Great Again leader Donald Trump first met during the Conservative Political Action Conference at Oxon Hill, Maryland on Saturday.

Argentina’s rightist president Milei, who gained popularity by coining Trump’s MAGA slogan during his campaign, attended the summit and blasted socialism and economic regulation.

The iconic union of Milei, bear-hugging Trump, wraps up the annual CPAC outside Washington.

A video showing Milei shouting “President!” as he saw Trump and his demeanor as they took pictures together shows how the Argentinian MAGA looks up to the Republican leader.

Milei was among the several politicians who echoed Trump’s agenda and supported his stand on migration.

Before attending the summit, Milei welcomed Biden’s officials in Buenos Aires, showcasing his attempt at diplomacy and handling of differences in ideology.

Milei met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. According to reports, the US ambassador for Buenos Aires, Marc Stanley, discouraged the right-wing populist leader from attending CPAC.

Patricia Bullrich, Miley’s security minister, said that Stanley advised them that the [CPAC] event was “very political” and inappropriate for him to participate.

For Bullrich, however, “it was honorable to come.”

“He comes here as a speaker, to give a general speech, not to talk about the election,” she added.

Argentina’s firebrand leader called on the CPAC crowd to unite against socialism and stop the regulation of the economy. He also denounced abortion and called it a “murderous agenda” which is aimed at minimizing population.

“Do not give up your freedom. Fight for your freedom because if you do not fight, you will be led into misery,” says Milei in Spanish.

Meanwhile, the Republican presumptive presidential nominee promised the CPAC audience “a reckoning like they haven’t imagined before” against the Democrats in November.

“Nov. 5 will be our new liberation day, but for the liars and cheaters, and fraudsters, and censors, and imposters who have commandeered our government. It will be their judgment day,” Trump said

“When we win, the curtain closes on their corrupt reign, and the sun rises on a bright new future for America. That’s what we have to have. I believe it’s our last chance.”

He added that there are matters that need to be addressed today, which are even more important than it was in 2016. One example he cited was that the border was “20 times worse than what we had in 2016.”

“It’s going to have to happen fast before our country is just overwhelmed,” he said.
