BREAKING: The Defense Lawyers To Seek New Trial After Report Of A ‘Bias Juror’ – He calls the juror’s disclosures “influenced the deliberations and convinced other members of the jury to convict Ms. Maxwell.”

Last week, Ghislaine Maxwell, the disgraced associate of Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of sex trafficking a minor, Transporting a minor for criminal sexual activity, and Conspiracy.

According to a new report, Maxwell’s lawyers will be seeking a new trial after one of the jury members told the media that he was a victim of sexual abuse.

Christian Everdell, Maxwell’s lawyer wrote a letter to U.S. District Judge Alison Nathen claiming that there were “incontrovertible grounds” for Maxwell and demanded a new trial.

He calls the juror’s disclosures “influenced the deliberations and convinced other members of the jury to convict Ms. Maxwell.”

“Defense lawyers will argue that this question was so part and parcel to figuring out that juror’s bias or any juror’s bias,” Moira Penza, a former federal prosecutor said about this.

According to Penza, courts have previously granted new trials in such cases based on “purposeful lies or omissions” for the screening process of the jurors known as voir dire.

As of right now, Ghislaine Maxwell faces up to 65 years in prison for her conviction.

And is separately facing trial on two perjury counts for allegedly lying under oath about Epstein’s behavior in a deposition for a civil case. The date of this trial is not set yet.
