In an attempt to woo black churchgoers, US Attorney General Merrick Garland pledged to do all his might to remove the voter ID requirements, describing it as “discriminatory,” “burdensome,” and “unnecessary.”
Garland delivered his remarks during the “Bloody Sunday” commemoration at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama.
He even went further and called the voting requirement “oppressive.”
Garland claims that the “right to vote is still under attack.”
He even slammed the restrictions of ballot “drop boxes.”
“That is why we are challenging efforts by states and jurisdictions to implement discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary restrictions on access to the ballot, including those related to mail-in voting, the use of drop boxes, and voter ID requirements,” the attorney general quipped.
“That is why we are working to block the adoption of discriminatory redistricting plans that dilute the vote of Black voters and other voters of color.”
However, Garland only managed to embarrass himself as the majority of blacks are actually in favor of voter ID requirements.
According to a recent poll by Rasmussen Reports, 69 percent of blacks favor laws that require presenting photo identification before being allowed to vote.
A similar survey conducted by Pew Research revealed that at least 81 percent of voters support the photo ID requirement.
The Biden administration has long been pushing for repealing the voter ID law. In 2022, President Joe Biden described the law as voter suppression.
However, most Americans can see through Biden’s lies. Repealing the voter ID requirement is congruent to push illegals to participate in elections.
And with the vast majority of Americans backing the law, it seems that the only people who don’t support voter ID are Democrats.
Instead of gaining support, Garland only managed to get strong pushback among social media users.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, “It’s insulting and racist of them to claim some people can’t get voter ID!”
Rumble host Alec Lace quipped, “AG Garland assumes Black people have difficulty obtaining an ID. Is it Garland who is ignorant and racist?”
“They don’t want secure elections otherwise they can’t win,” blasted Nicholas Pagnotta of The Raging Patriot.
Paul Szypula said, “What he’s really saying is Democrats want to make it easier for illegals to vote.”
“He also spoke in favor of other ways to cheat like drop boxes.”
“Democrats will say and do anything to cheat,” tweeted Catturd.
Salty Texan, an X user, remarked: “Boy, pimping yourself out in a black church because you know that they know you’re trying to replace them with illegal aliens isn’t a confident look”
