VP Tulsi Gabbard? Trump Hints

Seems like the former Hawaii representative is on her way to the White House as the Republican leading nominee eyes her as a possible running mate in the 2024 presidential elections.

During his town hall in Greenville, South Carolina with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, the former president revealed that Gabbard, along with Gov. DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem were among the names included on his shortlist.

The mention of Gabbard’s name drew applause from the town hall’s audience.

Trump further said that these people are “all solid.”

“And I always say I want people with common sense because there’s so many things happening in this country that don’t make sense.”

According to the GOP front-runner, one of the qualities he is looking for in his possible running mate is their capacity to lead as “a good president because if something should happen, you have to have somebody that’s going to be a great president.”

According to the sources close to Trump, the former president has been in talks with Gabbard on various issues including foreign policy, defense, and the possibility of her joining his ticket as vice-president.

Gabbard, a former four-term Congresswoman under the Democratic Party has long quit the left and aligned herself ever since with the Republicans. She also frequented Fox News, a right-leaning news outfit.

When Gabbard rejected the left, she called on fellow Democrats to join.

The former lawmaker opposed the Democrats’ policies on religion, police, and protecting citizens. She also blasted Joe Biden’s foreign policies. Gabbard believes the US government should serve the people, not just powerful groups.

The former lawmaker responded positively to the possibility of her running alongside Trump in 2024.

“I’d be open to that conversation. My mission in life is to serve our country and serve the American people and find the best way to be able to do that,” Gabbard told last week.

The Washington Post reported that the former President and Gabbard personally met at least once last year.

“Gabbard and Trump and his team have discussed military entanglements overseas and Trump’s frustrations with Republicans on foreign policy. Trump advisers also hope Gabbard — who serves in the Army Reserve — could appeal to independent voters in a general election, one person familiar with the strategy said, and advocate his military policies.”

On March 7, the former lawmaker will appear at a fundraising dinner for the 917 Society — a nonprofit best known for distributing pocket-sized copies of the Constitution, in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago.
