MSNBC guest Roland Martin called for a war against “evil Republicans” during a recent appearance on the network. This is a substantial increase in temperature in American political discourse, driven primarily by liberal media and President Joe Biden’s continual remarks regarding the “threat to democracy” he calls the Republican party.
Liberal news host MSNBC’s “The Cross Connection” over the weekend, where he discussed Biden’s message in more detail.
Calling republicans “evil,” Martin declared that democrats are at “war” against them.
It’s time for Democrats to stop playing nice with Republicans and start fighting back, he said.
“We are at war. And I’m not talking about a figurative war, I’m talking about an actual war,” Martin said.
“The Democratic Party is at war with the Republican Party. They want to destroy us.”
He went on to say that republicans are “wicked” and “demonic,” and that they need to be stopped.
“We have to understand that these folks are evil, they are demonic, and they must be destroyed,” he said.
Biden gave a speech calling Republicans a threat to our democracy. “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.”
The President accused the MAGA Republicans of disregarding the Constitution and upholding the rule of law, before going on to state that they pose a danger to democracy.

“We cannot let them get away with this,” Biden said. “We must come together as a nation to protect our democracy.”
Biden urged Americans to stand up and fight for what is right, saying that we are all in this together. “This is not a time for despair, it is a time for action,” he said. “It is time for each of us to do what we can to defend our democracy.”
Dworkin, co-founder of the Democratic Coalition, appeared on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” to share his views.
“We’re in a war against evil Republicans right now,” Dworkin said. “They are a clear and present danger to our democracy, what they did on January 6th, trying to overthrow the results of a free and fair election.”
Dworkin went on to say that Republicans are “worse than Al Qaeda” and that they “need to be treated like the enemy.”
“They need to be stopped, and I think we need to treat them like the enemy, which is what they are,” Dworkin said. “They’re worse than Al Qaeda, they’re worse than ISIS.”
Dworkin’s comments come just days after President Joe Biden delivered a speech in which he called Republicans “a clear and present danger to our democracy.”
MSNBC has been increasingly aggressive in its rhetoric against Republicans in recent months.
In December, MSNBC host Joy Reid compared Republicans to “domestic terrorists” and said that they are “willing to burn the country down” to get their way.
And last month, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace said that she wished she could put a “a tracker on every Republican member of Congress” to see if they would “turn into a white supremacist.”
MSNBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
