Former President Trump has not announced if he will be running for re-election in 2024 yet. If by some chance, he decides not to seek the office, the Republican Party will be turning toward Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to take the mantle.
DeSantis has led the fight against the administration since Biden took office in January 2021. He has been the proverbial thorn in the side of the Democrats ever since.
Of course, because of that, they have attacked him and the Sunshine state repeatedly over the last two years but each time DeSantis seems to come out on top. He has even taken on the powerful Disney Corporation and is winning since Disney stock is dropping dramatically.
Governor DeSantis took the stage at the Sunshine Summit Victory Dinner on Saturday and didn’t just go after Democrats. He challenged Republicans to do a better job of standing up for their voters.
The speeches, which included Devin Nunez, began by touting their record within the Sunshine State. They talked about tax cuts, budget surpluses, and their ability to deal with Covid in schools and with the elderly.
Then DeSantis, not surprisingly, turned his attention to the Biden Administration. Of course, he wished the President well and his desire to see him recover from his bout with Covid quickly.
He then produced the line of the night. According to WFIT.org. “And hopefully, the United States will have a speedy recovery from its bout with Joe Biden.” The comment got a big reaction from the crowd.
He went on to reference the popular “Brandon” term several times but the biggest surprise of the night came when he challenged the Republican establishment.
He told the crowd, “Republicans must be courageous as November’s midterm elections approach”, according to the Washington Examiner. In his best Churchill moment, he references there is no better time for courage.
Republicans are expected to win back the House and Senate in the November mid-term elections. Polling is indicating it will be a “red wave” in the fall.
The predicted landslide is mainly due to the progressive, woke agenda being slammed down the throats of the public at the hands of Joe Biden and his administration. Americans don’t like the Inflation, the high gas prices, the insane educational policies, and a progressive-driven green energy plan.
If the Republicans take control, it is time for real change, not just the same old talking points that get nowhere. Republicans must have the courage to stand on their convictions in the face of media attacks, political attacks using Hollywood and professional sports, and the threats of violence in the streets.
DeSantis got the crowd riled up when he said, “We are just getting warmed up. I have only begun to fight. I’m standing my ground, walking the line all the way to the finish line”, according to thefirstlightreport.com.
The Democrats have gotten very good at utilizing their minions including groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter. The Conservative party can no longer sit by and allow the far-left to achieve their goals through intimidation and fear. Now is the time for Republicans to stand up.
