Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has been caught bussing migrants to a Chicago suburb without telling the local mayor.
Lightfoot had previously slammed Texas Governor Greg Abbott for doing the exact same thing—sending migrants north without coordinating with her highness.
However, it seems that Lightfoot is more than happy to do the same thing herself.
Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso told WGN that he was not informed about the migrants being brought to his town.
“I am concerned neither the village administrator nor I were told about this,” Grasso said. “We want to know: Why Burr Ridge?”
It is clear that Lightfoot only cares about migrants when it suits her politically. She is happy to use them as pawns in her games, but she doesn’t actually care about their welfare.
Lightfoot has been critical of the Trump administration’s handling of the migrant crisis at the southern border, but it seems she is not above using desperate people as political pawns herself.
In May, Lightfoot said she would welcome migrants to Chicago with “open arms.”
“My frustration comes from the actions of the governor of Texas,” she said at the time. “There could be a level of coordination and cooperation, but he chooses to do none of those things and instead tries to send human beings — not cargo, not freight — human beings across the country to an uncertain destination.”
The Governor also condemned the actions of Texas: “What the governor of Texas is doing is disgusting and it needs to stop.”
“It shouldn’t be that the governor of Texas is taking these people and treating them like cattle, treating them like property, putting them on busses and sending them wherever he wants to send them.”

The Governor’s spokesperson continued following these allegations against Lightfoot: “The state is working with our partners at the City of Chicago and Cook County along with advocacy organizations to welcome those seeking asylum in the United States and provide them stability as they work to build a new life in Illinois.
“The state has a prior relationship with the hotel being used in the suburbs and their staff has done amazing work welcoming refugees and asylum seekers before, so it is interesting that local officials are choosing this specific instance to gripe to the press about this specific group of asylum seekers that consists of about 30 families.
“Gov. Pritzker has made it clear that Illinois is a welcoming state and xenophobia has no home here.”
“On Wednesday, September 7, the Village of Burr Ridge learned that 64 refugees, among many bussed to Chicago from Texas, were transported from the Salvation Army Shield of Hope in Chicago and assigned to temporary hotel housing in Burr Ridge.
However, it seems that Lightfoot has had a change of heart and is now busing migrants to a suburb of Chicago.
The move has drawn criticism from residents of the suburb, who say they were not consulted about the decision.
It is also unclear what will happen to the migrants when they arrive in the suburb, as there are no facilities there that can accommodate them.
Lightfoot has not commented on the situation.
