Previously, Brian Stelter of CNN referred to Hunter Biden’s leaked laptop as a “classic example of the right-wing media machine,” but on Sunday, he conceded that the “laptop from hell” is indeed real.
This comes after numerous reports from credible outlets, including The New York Post, that have verified the authenticity of the emails and photos on the laptop.
Stelter made the admission during a discussion with conservative commentator Dan Bongino, who has been one of the loudest voices pushing the story.
Bongino called out Stelter for his previous comments dismissing the story, saying: “You said it was part of a right-wing conspiracy theory.”
Stelter responded: “I did say that, and I was wrong.”
He continued: “The laptop is real, the emails are real, the photos are real. That much is now beyond dispute.”
This is a major concession from Stelter, who has been one of the most vocal critics of the story.
It’s also a major victory for Bongino and other conservatives who have been pushing the story, despite being met with skepticism and ridicule from the mainstream media.
Now that Stelter has finally admitted the story is real, it’s time for the rest of the media to do the same.

In an interview with former Biden press secretary Michael LaRosa, Stelter was pressed for answers about Hunter and the damning evidence against him.
“What about his son?” Stelter asked LaRosa. “What about Hunter? Hunter under federal investigation, charges can be coming at any time, this is not just a right-wing media story. This is a real problem for the Bidens.”
LaRosa tried to deflect, but Stelter persisted: “The laptop is real, right? The emails are real?”
After being put on the spot, Stelter finally conceded: “Yeah, of course. The laptop is real.”
This admission is a major departure from Stelter’s previous stance on the matter. Just last week, he claimed that there was “no evidence” to suggest that the laptop was anything other than a “smear campaign.”
Now that he has been forced to admit the truth, it remains to be seen how long Stelter will continue to downplay the significance of Hunter Biden’s damning emails.
When asked about the possibility of Hunter Biden being charged with a crime, Stelter said, “It would be a big problem for the Biden campaign if it turns out that Hunter Biden is facing charges.”
Stelter went on to say that the results of the investigation could “vastly” hinder President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign in 2024. In fact, it could force the president to forgo his candidacy as he is also under a federal investigation in connection to Hunter’s laptop.
This is a major change in tune for Stelter, who has been one of the loudest voices trying to downplay the significance of the laptop and its contents. He even went so far as to call it a “conspiracy theory” that was being peddled by President Donald Trump and his allies.
It’s about time Stelter finally admitted that the laptop is real and that the investigation into Hunter Biden is a serious matter. For months, he has been trying to protect Joe Biden and downplay the scandal, but now that the walls are closing in on the Bidens, it seems even Stelter can’t deny the truth any longer.
