Colorado Republican Congresswoman Rep. Lauren Boebert called out the FBI and the raid of Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate.
Boebert agreed with Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s call for oversight over the FBI.
She wrote, “This #DepartmentOfInjustice must be held accountable. It was President Trump today, but it’s you next if we don’t take a stand.”
The raid took place on Monday and lasted for more than 9 hours. Trump’s lawyers weren’t allowed inside while the FBI looked through the whole house.
Boebert said in her video, “the GOP must set up a Select Committee to investigate the FBI’s politically-motivated raid on Mar-a-Lago and on ALL the fraudulent persecution of President Trump from our government. This cannot wait. We are turning into a banana republic at record speed.”
And in a separate tweet, Rep. Boebert asked the question, “When will Hunter Biden be raided?”
That truly is the question of the day, isn’t it?
Even though content from the laptop has been retrieved and shown it contains sensitive materials, nothing has happened to Hunter Biden.
The New York Times reported on what the raid allegedly was looking for:
The search, according to two people familiar with the investigation, appeared to be focused on material that Mr. Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club, and residence after he left the White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents, according to a person familiar with their contents.
Mr. Trump delayed returning 15 boxes of the material requested by officials with the National Archives for many months, only doing so when there became a threat of action being taken to retrieve them.
The search was at least in part for whether any records remained at the club, the person familiar with the search said. The reported search came at a time when the Justice Department has also been stepping up questioning former Trump aides who had been witnesses to discussion and planning in the White House of Mr. Trump’s efforts to remain in office after his loss in the 2020 election.
Trump was not at his home when the FBI raided it. He released a statement soon after the event happened.
“Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate.”
“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections.”
Will Hunter Biden ever be investigated for his laptop and for the various financial crimes? We will have to wait for the November midterms to see.
