Despite being proven guilty of plagiarism, Harvard president Claudine Gay is absolved by the Ivy League institution in its attempt to maintain a facade about their DEI.

A former political science professor at Vanderbilt University lambasted Harvard and Gay and said, “[Claudine Gay] was only saved because she is it’s first black president.”

She also accused the embattled president of copying her work.

“I feel like her whole research agenda, her whole career, was based on my work,” Swain told Fox News Digital of allegations Gay lifted some without proper attribution.

Swain added that Gay is receiving a “free pass” because she is the symbol of Harvard’s “diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.”

The former professor also urged Gay to step down and hoped that “the pressure doesn’t relent until she does that because she’s harming academia, she’s harming academia.”

Furthermore, Wall Street Journal’s Jason Riley hit Harvard in his opinion column last Wednesday.

Riley compared the treatment of Gay and University of Pennsylvania President Liz Maill who were both “guilty of indulging antisemitism on campus” yet they suffered different consequences.

“You don’t need a Harvard degree to understand that Ms. Gay, the school’s first Black president, advances the diversity imperatives of her institution in ways that Ms. Magill, who is White, doesn’t,” Riley remarked.

In the column, he expounded:

“Harvard has been forced to acknowledge multiple instances of “inadequate citation,” which is more commonly known as plagiarism. By some counts, close to half of Ms. Gay’s academic output contains instances of copying word-for-word from another source without using quotation marks.”

“Harvard’s dilemma illustrates a broader practical problem with racial-preference policies. Once you lower standards for hiring administrators or admitting students, you are forced to lower standards for evaluating their conduct and performance. For purposes of window dressing, people who have no business running elite institutions such as Harvard have been put in charge of people who have no business teaching or matriculating there. What could go wrong?”

Gay is under probe for possible plagiarism of other scholars’ published works in her 1997 PhD thesis and the papers she produced between 1993 and 2017.

The outlet said scholars it had consulted agreed Gay had “violated a core principle of academic integrity” and said they had found 10 instances where Gay had lifted sentences or paragraphs and only changed a word or two.

He added that the liberal elites are quick to attack anyone who demands Gay out of Harvard.

Billionaire Harvard donor Bill Ackman had earlier blasted the university for hiring staff based on DEI criteria and not for merit.
