Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton found her way back into the national spotlight, and this time it’s for being “cringe.”
The failed Democratic presidential candidate posted a photo of herself dancing while allegedly in Cartagena, Columbia, during a visit while serving under then-Oreiseint Barack Obama. She posted it in support of Finland’s prime minister, Sanna Marin, who was recently criticized for videos showing her dancing suggestively at a party with a man who wasn’t her husband and a woman being kissed by a topless woman at her home.
“As Ann Richards said, ‘Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backward and in high heels,’” Clinton wrote on Twitter in a post containing the photo. “Here’s me in Cartagena while I was there for a meeting as Secretary of State. Keep dancing, @marinsanna.”
Sanna responded to Clinton with a thank you and a heart emoji.
The Daily Wire reported:
Clinton quoted Richards’ 1988 keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention referencing Astaire and Rogers, but the line has been attributed to earlier usage, in a 1982 Frank and Ernest cartoon by Bob Thaves.
Marin apologized after a photo revealed two bare-chested women kissing at her official residence, with one woman’s breasts only covered by a sign reading, “Finland.”
The Finnish PM told reporters in Helsinki that she had asked friends to come over to “sauna, swim, and spend time together” following a music festival in July known as Ruisrock.
She also mentioned that the dancing and other incidents occurred in guest bathrooms that were downstairs at the official residence.
“In my opinion that photo is not appropriate. I apologize for that; that photo shouldn’t have been taken,” she said, according to YLE News.
“We were using the sauna facilities and the garden area, but we did not spend time inside the Kesäranta house, although the downstairs guest toilets were in use,” she noted further.
Sabrina Sarkka, a 33-year-old social media influencer, apologized for the kiss.
According to UPI, “Many women who support Marin have been posting videos of themselves dancing on social media, with the tag #SolidarityWithSanna.”
As for Clinton, she was mocked widely online for her post.
Clinton was also mocked for a tweet she sent after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s residence earlier this month.
“Every ‘But her emails’ hat or shirt sold helps @onwardtogether partners defend democracy, build a progressive bench, and fight for our values,” she said. “Just saying!”
Clinton famously kept classified information on a private email server, which was called “extremely careless” by former FBI director James Comey.
“Hillary is out here bragging that she nor Epstein client Bill will ever be raided by the FBI… because it’s clearly a two tiered justice system,” Tim Young said.
“The ultimate grifter. Selling merch on the Trump raid. Stay classy, Hillary,” Buzz Patterson added.
“Hillary is fundraising off of admitting she did worse than what Trump is accused of This is the perfect example of democrat double standards She is gloating that she is above the law and knows democrats will give her money for it,” Tim Pool noted.
“She deleted 33,000 emails from a private server she used to conduct State Department business after she got a subpoena and now she’s bragging about it because the game show host that beat her got his house raided for having government documents in his private possession,” Alex Rubenstein said.
It is rumored that Hillary will throw her hat into the ring to run for president again, but it has not been confirmed.
