Anti-MAGA Donors “Won’t Back Down,” Clings to Haley Amid Losing Streak

Anti-Trumpers refuse to throw in the towel “just yet” for Nikki Haley despite back-to-back defeats. According to year-end Federal Election Commission filings, Nimarata raised $41.6 million in the second half of 2023 from billionaire donors who refused to align with the Make America Great Again leader.

Haley was linked to four organizations that supported her campaign race, including SFA Fund Inc. (a hybrid political action committee), Team Stand For America, Stand for America PAC, and Stand for America Inc.

These groups, regulated by the FEC, were able to raise Haley’s funds to $129 million.

One of the known benefactors of SFA Fund Inc. was Jan Koum, a Ukrainian American billionaire who was the co-founder and former CEO of WhatsApp. In 2014, Facebook Inc. was able to buy the messaging application.

According to data gathered by Open Secrets, a watchdog group, Koum has donated to GOP’s causes since 2021.

Another Haley’s mega-donor Paul Singer, president and co-CEO at Elliot Investment Management, sent $5 million to Haley’s SFA fund in 2023.

Singer has been a consistent financier of major Republican-aligned PACs and Committees, including the Republican National Committee.

The investment magnate has often supported Trump’s rivals. In 2016, he backed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), who ran against the former president in the Republican nomination race.

Citadel Investment Group CEO Ken Griffin also donated $5 million to Nikki Haley. Griffin has been constantly funding Republican candidates and causes.

However, Griffin lately has been saying that the chances of Haley’s victory are now “narrower” than it was two months ago.

Haley also received $2.5 million from Shirley Ryan, the CEO and chairman of Pathways.org, and wife of Patrick Ryan, who was a significant benefactor to Northwestern University and part-owner of NFL’s Chicago Bears.

The Appaloosa Management founder David Tepper and his wife donated about $1.5 million to Haley’s backer SFA fund.

Other prominent names were Minneapolis-based construction company chairman Patrick Ryan, Tim Draper, New Balance owner James Davis, Warren and Harriet Stephens, former DeSantis donor David and Jennifer Millstone, and oil magnate Ray Hunt.

These are just some of the names of the “swamp” Trump warned you about. These are Wall Street executives and billionaire tech founders who are opposing Trump’s reelection with no option left but Haley.

According to Tom Tancredo, a former Republican member of Congress and anti-illegal migration advocate, “[this] is one reason why the establishment hates [Trump] so much, they can’t control him through money.”
