Biden Threatens to Stop Military Aid to Israel If It Pursues Hamas Terrorists in Rafah

This time, Joe Biden tells Israel “don’t” as Israel targets Rafah, where they believe the remaining Hamas members are remaining.

He threatened Israel’s Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu with withholding their military aid and other arms if it pursued its plan of invading Rafah.

In an interview with CNN, Biden quipped that he had stressed to Israel that if he moved forward, the US would not give them “weapons.”

“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs and other ways in which they go after population centers,” Biden grumbled.

His remarks came as he halted the delivery of 2,000-pound explosives to Israel last week.

“I made it clear that if they go into Rafah, they haven’t gone into Rafah yet, if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities, to deal with that problem,” Biden said.

However, the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee is still indecisive about whose side he is on because, despite his threats, he still claims that the US would ensure Israel’s safety “in terms of the Iron Dome and their capacity to fend off attacks.”

On Sunday, Hamas terrorists launched a series of rockets from Rafah to the Kerem Shalom border crossing, an area where humanitarian aid enters the Gaza Strip.

The next day, Monday, the Israel Defense Force advised residents in Rafah to shelter and evacuate. The IDF dropped flyers and sent messages, along with other channels of communication and advice, to people in Rafah to seek safety in the Al-Mawaasi humanitarian zone and other safe zones.

Israel’s initial response to Biden’s threat was through its UN ambassador, Gilad Erdan, who called his statement “very disappointing.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu, while not dropping any names, replied, “If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone. I have said that if necessary, we will fight with our fingernails.

He also cited the 1948 war, where Israel was attacked by a coalition of Arab states to counter US threats.

“In the War of Independence 76 years ago, we were the few against the many,” he said.

“We did not have weapons. There was an arms embargo on Israel, but with great strength of spirit, heroism, and unity among us, we were victorious.”

Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant, echoed Netanyahu and said that Israel’s “enemies as well as … best of friends” should understand that his country “cannot be subdued.”

“We will stand strong, we will achieve our goals,” he continued.

On Thursday, Israeli warplanes struck Rafah, Hamas’ last remaining territory, despite Biden’s threats.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump blasts Biden for his vacillating commitment to Israel, a United States ally, and remarks that it will not happen under his watch.

“I want to say God bless the people of Israel—they’re under attack right now,” Trump said Saturday during a rally in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.

“The great weakness that we’ve shown is unbelievable, and it would not have happened if we were in office. You know that, they know that, everybody knows that,” he added.

Senator Ted Cruz, on the other hand, calls Biden the “greatest friend” of the terrorist groups.
