The nations that imposed lockdowns or similar measures discovered that these practices were ineffective against the massively spreading COVID-19.
Renowned political personalities like Andrew Cuomo imposed such brutal laws and received a lot of praise. Cuomo might get dragged to the House Select Subcommittee on the chaotic COVID-19 mishandling and will go through severe investigations.
While talking with New York Post, a GOP Rep. from New York, Nicole Malliotakis, disclosed, “It’s quite possible that the committee will subpoena either [former] Gov. Cuomo or his former chief of staff Melissa DeRosa.”
She added:
“Now we’re in the majority, and now we’re in a position to subpoena.”
During the interview, she also informed that she submitted the issue to the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer from Kentucky.
Malliotakis also highlighted the problems that Cuomo or his senior staff would have to give an explanation for:
“pertaining to the decisions that were made to place individuals in nursing homes as opposed to utilizing the federal sites that had been set up, like the USNS Comfort ship or the National Guard setting up extensions of hospitals. Cuomo left with a lot of New Yorkers having legitimate questions about his role in the death of thousands.”
She stated:
“There was negligence, no doubt. Whether that was criminal, we have to drill down.”
Cuomo’s spokesperson responded to the accusations and argued that:
“This is the same old Trump-era retread. We were following CDC guidance, and DOJ twice looked at this, as did the assembly, the Attorney General, and the Manhattan district attorney’s office, and all found no there there. It’s incredibly sad that some continue to try to weaponize people’s pain for their own craven politics.”
