Billie Eilish has said that she started watching pornography when she was just 11 and that it “destroyed” her brain.
It comes after the singer-songwriter released her song Male Fantasy – a track on her second album, Happier Than Ever – in which she sings about using porn to “distract” herself.
The 19-year-old has now reportedly opened up about her negative experience with such explicit content, sharing her opinion earlier this week that pornography is a “disgrace.”
Discussing her first few times having sex, she reportedly said: “I was not saying no to things that were not good [because] I thought that’s what I was supposed to be attracted to.”
Billie said she is “angry” that porn is loved by many and that she herself once thought it was “okay.”
“I didn’t understand why that was a bad thing – I thought it was how you learned how to have sex. I was an advocate and I thought I was one of the guys and would talk about it and think I was really cool for not having a problem with it and not seeing why it was bad,” BBC quoted her as saying.
Her latest album was released in July and topped the charts in numerous countries, including in the UK.
