After being convicted of fraud, disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, the Department of Justice discharged him of all charges related to campaign finance violations.
Bankman-Fried was top democrat funder. In 2020, he shelled out $5.2 million for Biden’s campaign trail. The FTX founder donated About $100 million to the Democratic party during the 2020 cycle.
According to an indictment against Bankman-Fried last August, “He leveraged this influence, in turn, to lobby Congress and regulatory agencies to support legislation and regulation he believed would make it easier for FTX to continue to accept customer deposits and grow,” the indictment read in August.”
In a letter submitted by Judge Lewis Kaplan regarding Bankman-Fried’s case, the “[Federal government] does not plan to proceed with a second trial,” which meant that the presented evidence during the first trial was already sufficient for the court’s scheduled sentencing on March 2024.
The FTX founder was charged with “two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, two counts of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.”
The court dismissed the lawsuit on his political campaign finance violations, for the reason that “the US federal government was prevented from proceeding to trial Count Eight due to its treaty obligations with The Bahamas.”
Bankman-Fried was extradited from The Bahamas where he positioned his business.
Charlie Kirk slammed the DOJ decision and said, “The SBF case became too high-profile for the DOJ to completely ignore, but they made sure laundering $100 million of customers’ money to Schumer, Biden, and McConnell and other dark money groups would never blow back on the ‘elite.’ Trump faces 700 years in federal prison, but America’s uni-party cabal just gave themselves a get-out-of-jail-free card. You’re witnessing DC corruption in real-time.”
Had there been a second trial, the public would have known who among the Democrat leaders received his plundered gains and would probably have been compelled to return these to FTX customers who were deceived by Bankman-Fried.
Representative Tim Burchett (R-Tenn) disagreed with the court decision, her remarked “So we won’t know which politicians he bribed or who’s campaigns he influenced? That collective sigh of relief you are hearing is from the DEEP STATE.”
GOP supporter John Cardillo said, “DOJ is protecting his Dem donation recipients.”
Trending Politics founder Collin Rugg said, “Making bribes with stolen money is fine as long as that money is going to U.S. politicians.”
Another X user said, “the most corrupt DOJ ever!”
