Former White House doctor, now a Republican representing Texas’ 13th Congressional District, Ronny Jackson “is demanding that President Joe Biden take a cognitive test or drop out of his newly announced 2024 race altogether.”
Jackson, who served as White House physician from 2013-2018, has been sounding the alarm about President Biden’s cognitive issues and questioning his ability to serve as commander-in-chief.
Following Biden’s video announcement of his intent to run for re-election in 2024, Jackson wrote to the president making some demands.
According to The Post, the letter is “currently being circulated among House Republicans in a bid to garner support before it is sent to Biden.”
According to Fox News, the Republican lawmakers have until Wednesday to sign on to the letter.
“We call on you to either resign immediately and renounce your reelection bid or submit to a clinically validated cognitive screening assessment and make those results available to the public,” reads the letter addressed to Biden.
“When you first announced your bid to run in the 2020 presidential election, questions and concerns were raised surrounding your cognitive abilities,” Jackson wrote.
“Those concerns have only increased because your mental decline and forgetfulness have become more apparent since you were elected.”
“Over the past two years, public appearances where you shuffle your feet, trip when you walk, slur your words, forget names, lose your train of thought, and appear momentarily confused have become more of a common occurrence,” the letter continues.
“These incidences are so common and noticeable that if you search ‘Biden gaffes’ online, over 14,000,000 results appear.”
The letter mentions the president’s age and instances of obvious confusion on his part.
Jackson also cites recent “polls showing many Americans have doubt about the president’s mental fitness.” Adding that to the many reasons why the president should take a cognitive test.
Jackson, who served as White House physician during both the Trump and Obama administrations, added that “The American people should have absolute confidence in their President and know that he or she can perform their duties as Head of State and Commander in Chief.
“American people deserve complete transparency on the mental capabilities of their highest elected leader.”
Jackson had made a similar request of President Biden last year and urged him to “follow the example set by former President Trump.”
The Left screamed about former President Trump’s cognitive ability and yet stay silent as Biden shakes hands with the air, walks in the wrong direction, and has to be led around by the Easter Bunny among other concerning events.
Earlier this year, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley made a statement calling for all presidential candidates over the age of 75 to take mental competency tests.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended the president from that “attack,” saying, “If you go back to 2020, they said that the president couldn’t do it in 2020 and attacked him there, and he beat them,” Jean-Pierre said.
“Maybe they’re forgetting the wins that this president has had over the last couple of years. But I’m happy to remind them anytime.”
