The shock factor seems to be waning as news of public figures contracting COVID is announced. Even prior to sitting down to write this article, the wife of this columnist asked, unironically, “Is this even news anymore?”. Fair point.
One suspects that is a shared sentiment in the aftermath of the announcement that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh had contracted COVID-19.
What does seem noteworthy and justifying attention and scrutiny is the revelation that Kavanaugh was both asymptomatic and completely vaccinated.
It was reported, succinctly, by the New York Post that, “The 56-year-old, who has been fully vaccinated since January, was showing no symptoms when his positive test came back Thursday night, the court said in a statement.
Kavanaugh had the routine test ahead of Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s investiture ceremony Friday morning where she’ll take her oath of office as the court’s newest member.
“Per current court testing protocols, all of the Justices were tested Monday morning prior to the conference, and all tested negative, including Justice Kavanaugh,” the court said.
“Justice Kavanaugh’s wife and daughters are also fully vaccinated, and they tested negative on Thursday.”
Kavanaugh and his wife Ashley are not attending Barrett’s investiture as “a precaution”, the court said.
The court’s new term is set to kick off on Monday and it isn’t clear yet if Kavanaugh will participate.

Much like when Donald Trump tested positive for Covid and beat it despite being unvaccinated and in his 70s, many on the left can’t help but wish death upon everyone they disagree with. Covid has revealed one thing: Many leftists are ignorant, spiteful, and hateful human beings unworthy to be called Americans.
