As the January 6th hearings continue and we close in on the mid-term elections, politicians around the country are beginning to jockey for their position. They want to establish themselves in a position to obtain a high-paying job that comes with fame and notoriety.
Stephanie Grisham is the latest former Trump official to emerge from their hibernation over the last several months. She served under President Trump as a temporary replacement for Sara Huckabee Sanders as the White House Press Secretary and then as Melania Trump’s Chief of Staff.
Grisham appeared on CNN this week and made statements about a Twitter exchange with Melania Trump on January 6th. The video is below from New Day.
She asked the former First Lady if she would like to condemn violent behavior during the January 6th protests that resulted in some rioting in and around the Capital. The exchange appears below.
We can debate the validity of the tweet image all day long but we’re going to give Ms. Grisham the benefit of the doubt and assume it is real. She asked Melania to add her voice to the ongoing protests but Melania declined.
”Knowing her as well as I did at that point, it was so unlike her to not have condemned it, that that was the moment it all kind of broke me,” Grisham said in the CNN interview.
So violence broke her? It is kind of ironic that violence can “break” Ms. Grisham since she willingly jumped into a pushing and shoving match while in North Korea. The video shows Grisham moving quickly to engage with reporters and security personnel. She body checks one to clear a path.
If this were on the ice and she was slamming someone into the boards, absolutely acceptable. Bodying up on an unsuspecting North Korean security official who appears to be just doing his job in an office building, seems a little violent for sure.
Her new friends at CNN criticized her at that time calling the incident an all-out brawl leaving Grisham with bruises afterward.
Grisham has previous controversial behavior. She was previously arrested twice for Driving Under the Influence, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and reckless driving. Each time denying she had anything to drink.
According to police reports, obtained by Snopes.com, her blood alcohol was above the legal limit each time. Plea bargains got the DUI charges dropped while she pled to lesser charges. According to business insider.com, in her previous job at AAA, she was accused of falsifying travel reports and expenses.
Her time at Mindspace was short-lived for plagiarism claims. All of these incidents force one to look at the validity of Ms. Grisham and her interview with CNN.
According to Melania, at the time of the tweet, she was unaware of what was transpiring in the Capital. She was in the process of taking the archival recordings of the White House as expected of a First Lady upon leaving.
Ms. Grisham claims that is not true. Melania knew all about it. Based on prior life choices, believing Ms. Grisham’s statements is hard to do.
If she was the First Lady’s Chief of Staff, wouldn’t she have been with the First Lady as she archived everything? Why was she nowhere to be found? Why surface two years later before mid-term elections? Maybe it is because there will soon be open jobs for election winners.
