It has been a tough week and a half for President Joe Biden.

First, he caught a lot of flack for his  fist bump  with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He tested positive for Covid-19 despite being vaccinated, boosted, and boosted again.

Then Tennessee Judge Charles Atchley blocked his divisive identity politics attempt with transgender athletes. Now, the Supreme Court has ruled against him again. On Thursday, the nation’s highest court refused to reinstate Biden’s policy limiting immigration arrests.

A Texas judge had earlier ruled the Administration’s guidance to law enforcement violated Federal laws. The police forbid deportation of illegal immigrants coming across the border unless they were considered threats to public safety.

The definition of public safety meant they had to have committed acts of terrorism, espionage, or egregious threats to public safety according to The Guardian.

Earlier this year, Federal Judge Drew Tipton, appointed by President Trump to the Southern District Court of Texas, threw out a Department of Homeland Security policy that limits who immigration authorities can arrest and deport.

According to NPR.org, “Tipton sided with the states of Texas and Louisiana, which argued that the DHS guidance is preventing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from enforcing the law.” If people come across the border illegally, they have committed a crime and should be arrested for that crime.

The Supreme Court reaffirmed Tipton’s decision for the moment. The Biden Administration seemingly wants to flood areas with illegal immigrants. Many believe it is an attempt to destabilize local economies and secure more votes for the upcoming mid-term elections.

Homeland Security Director Alejandro Mayorkas, whose law enforcement experience includes prosecuting white collar crimes of tax evasion, money laundering, and telemarketing fraud, said being present in the country without authorization “should not alone be the basis” for arrest and removal.

The DHS Director said this past Tuesday the border is secure despite 207,000 migrant encounters in June alone, according to MSN.com. Border Patrol officials immediately refuted Mayorkas’ claims.

MSN.com reported a high-level CPB Agent who stated, “Secretary Mayorkas knows we have the least secure border in our history as evidenced by nearly one million known got aways and over 100,000 overdose deaths from narcotics coming across our southwest border,” he said.

“There are easy solutions but based upon the evidence and a refusal to implement programs to secure the border it is clear this Administration including Secretary Mayorkas clearly does not care about the American people.”

The Supreme Court disagreed with Director Mayorkas. It was Justice Jackson’s first major ruling since she was sworn into the Supreme Court. It was also the first time the court has ever ruled down gender lines. All four women voted to allow the policy to stay while all five males ruled in favor of Tipton’s ruling.

Biden is hoping the coming days improve for him. Physically, he is on the mend from being infected with the virus but he is also reeling from a series of setbacks politically. It remains to be seen if improvement can happen. After all, his approval rating might be lower than inflation rates very soon.
