It is hard to know where to place Kevin McCarthy. He seems to be your typical politician. He will fight when it is beneficial for his political career.

Back in May of 2021, the New York Times reported:

“…on Wednesday that members of his party recognized that President Biden had been legitimately elected, four months after he and 146 other Republicans voted to overturn the election results.
“I don’t think anybody is questioning the legitimacy of the presidential election,” Mr. McCarthy told reporters after meeting with Mr. Biden and congressional leaders at the White House to discuss infrastructure spending. “I think that is all over with. We’re sitting here with the president today. So from that point of view, I don’t think that’s a problem.”

McCarthy did fight for the election’s legitimacy but then cowered like a dog with his tail between his legs. He acknowledges Biden as legitimate and says he will work with the Former Vice President.

It is reminiscent of the laughable government shutdown attempt by Former Speaker John Boehner during Obama’s presidency. In comparison, it could be said that the two were playing the game and that they were choosing their battles.

Both fought and lost, and it was time to retreat so they could fight again. However, both McCarthy and Boehner are hard to place. Are they RINOS, or are they true conservatives? Are they politicians, or are they ordinary people who make mistakes?

The Daily Mail UK reported:

“John Boehner revealed that he voted for Donald Trump in 2020 despite his aid claiming at the time of the election the former speaker would rather ‘set himself on fire’ than get involved in the election.”

Referring to Boehner’s book, “On the House: A Washington Memoir,” he also blamed Trump for January 6th and called it a “bloody insurrection.” He accused Trump of inciting violence and all that leftist propaganda. That Biden won because he is a “nice guy.”

Mitch McConnell, a well-known RINO, dodged questions regarding the raid. He later released a statement the day after the raid.

“The country deserves a thorough and immediate explanation of what led to the events of Monday. Attorney General Garland and the Department of Justice should already have provided answers to the American people and must do so immediately.”

It was vague as expected. He called out the DOJ and Garland but didn’t specifically mention the Mar-a-Lago raid. McCarthy does a little better but is also ambiguous in his response. The only difference is that McCarthy takes a step further by stating that Republicans will investigate the DOJ.

Truth tent reported McCarthy’s response:

“I’ve seen enough. The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization.

When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned. Attorney General Garland, preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”

Rand Paul and Marjorie Taylor Green were precise in their response to the raid.

In a previous Raging Patriots article, Greene stated she was looking for a strong candidate for Speaker of the House when the Republicans regain control.

“I want a speaker that’s going to put America first, all of your money first, our borders and our children’s future above everything. That’s the future Speaker of the House.”

A house divided can not stand, but it would be nice if these politicians were straight talkers. That is why Trump has a huge following. Of course, he lies by overselling certain points, but he says what is on his mind. None of the roundabout answers, regardless if the politician is Greene or McCarthy.

I always had this personal saying about politics: “I trust my government to be untrustworthy.”

I never liked the new-aged idea of “I can have a beer with him” when considering a politician for a job. If people like Greene want to stand out, she should come out and say:

“I want Trump to be Speaker of the House.”

Kevin McCarthy should make his position clear. He should say:

“The raid at Mar-a-Lago was the last straw. The FBI withheld evidence on Kyle Rittenhouse’s case. The FBI’s invovlement on inciting Governor Whitmer’s kidnapping and the fact that they almost botched Larry Nassar’s sex abuse case by ignoring the tips from his victims. The FBI even has pedophiles under their employment. We will dismantle the FBI to the point where they are nothing more than rubble.”

Republicans have this “it’s his turn” way about them. We were stuck with John McCain in 2008 and Mit Romney in 2012. The same goes for the Speaker of the House. Kevin McCarthy is making vague announcements because he wants to be the Speaker of the House.

In Republican fashion, he would be nominated if Republicans win back the House. Only time will tell if people like Marjorie Taylor Greene are brave enough to go against the grain.
