“Letitia James is hellbent on a political vendetta against my father with zero regard for the lives of thousands of hard-working New Yorkers, who make their living in our buildings,” lamented Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization and one of Donald Trump’s co-defendant in New York Attorney General’s fraud case.
The former president’s son further warned James that the world is watching the legal attacks on the Republican nominee unfold, and emphasized that their company has fulfilled and never missed any obligations in any banks.
As the New York attorney general pressed on “getting” Trump, Eric Trump believes that she is not just shattering the trust of New York.
“The entire world is watching this unfold. The notion of seizing properties owned by the Former President of the United States (and the front runner for President in 2024) – properties belonging to a company that has NEVER missed a payment, never been in default, never breached a covenant, built American skylines, has repeatedly made banks hundreds of millions of dollars while employing THOUSANDS of hard-working New Yorkers – is shattering the trust of not just of New York (which is fragile at best) but in the entire legal system in the United States.”
He further said that acquiring a half-a-billion dollar bond in cold cash “doesn’t exist in this country.”
Eric Trump tells Fox host Maria Bartiromo that bond issuers laughed at them for asking for that amount.
“No one’s ever seen a bond this size.”
“Every single person, when I came to them saying, ‘Hey, can I get a half-billion-dollar bond?’ They were laughing. Top executives of large insurance companies had never seen anything of this size.”
He further quipped, “A $10m bond is a large bond. A $15m bond is an enormous bond. A half-a-billion dollar bond?”
However, last Friday, the former president exclaimed on Truth Social that he already has $500 million in cash.
“Through hard work, talent, and luck, I currently have almost five hundred million dollars in cash,” says Donald Trump.
But declined to put the money to cover Letitia James’ bond and said he intends to use “a substantial amount” on his campaign.
“You know what it was, it was a crooked number,” Eric Trump said. “They’re trying to put my father out of business or trying to take all his resources that you’d otherwise put into his own campaign for the presidency.”
“It’s going to backfire because he’s going to win this,” the president’s son warned.
Billionaires and executives questioned the ruling and warned that this verdict might implicate other businesses in New York as Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron weaponize the justice system to attack opponents.
