President Joe Biden’s approval rating had once again hit an all-time low last week, as Monmouth University released the results of their poll that revealed that only 34 percent approved of Biden in the White House while 61 percent disapproved of his performance.

The 81-year-old president’s ratings have been on a downward trend for months.

The poll results show the lowest approval rating in Monmouth’s polling since Mr. Biden took office in January 2021.

Sixty-nine percent of the respondents did not agree with how the Democrat-led administration handled immigration, while 68 percent with inflation.

The majority or 65 percent of these respondents wished the president would do more on issues important to them, while only 3 out of 10 are satisfied with his efforts.

Moreover, about 53 percent disapprove of his performance in addressing job and employment woes while 52 percent disagree with him on his transportation and energy infrastructure policies.

Currently, 44% of Americans say they are struggling to remain where they are financially. Another 43% report being stable, while only 12% say their financial situation is improving.

The Monmouth University Poll also finds that opinion of the job the U.S. Congress is doing stands at its worst mark in more than a year – 17% approve and 77% disapprove.

Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, said “The Biden administration keeps touting their infrastructure investments and a host of positive economic indicators. Those data points may be factual, but most Americans are still smarting from higher prices caused by post-pandemic inflation. This seems to be what’s driving public opinion.”

Murray added, “There is certainly an element of partisanship in how people frame their financial situation, which is based in part on who occupies the White House. But even a good chunk of Biden’s Democratic base wish he’d start paying more attention to their top priorities than he is now.”

Earlier this month, a Wall Street Journal survey also found Biden with only 37 percent approval rating. He is also behind 4 points in a Biden-Trump matchup.

According to the poll, 47 percent of respondents said they would vote for Trump while only 43 percent would vote for Biden.

Additionally, 53 percent said that Biden’s policies have hurt them personally.

His ratings are not just significantly low, it’s historically atrocious.

Based on FiveThirtyEight’s catalog, Biden has the lowest approval rating since President Harry S. Truman, who was sworn in in 1945.

The Monmouth University Poll was conducted through phone polling from November 30 to December 4, 2023, with 803 adults in the United States.
