Since Joe Biden took office around 50 days ago, he has failed to address the public regarding many issues that face our country, specifically border security and immigration.
President Biden’s press secretary, Jen Psaki, refuses to confirm reports that the number of detained unaccompanied minors at the border has risen since Biden took office.
More than 3,200 unaccompanied children are in Customs and Border Protection custody, a U.S. official informed Reuters, including 2,600 who are awaiting a minors shelter that has only 500 beds available.
The border detention centres facilities were built to house adults for short periods of time, and are made of steel and concrete cells which critics say are unfit to hold children.
The legal limit of holding children in the centres facility is 72 hours, but reported data says that young migrants are currently spending an average of 107 hours while they wait to be transferred.
Biden and Harris were quick to condemn the use of cages during the 2020 presidential campaign, accusing President Trump of putting “babies in cages.”
But now it seems they are both doing the same thing.
After an increase in the pandemic and illegal immigration to the United States, President Biden ordered Customs and Border Protection to literally catch and release migrants.
This order has raised concerns that the new “come one, come all” approach would trigger an even higher influx of migrants that would ultimately overwhelm the agency’s limited detention capacity.
The reason for all these detentions are due to the fact that Joe Biden announced that all are welcome and anyone can come into the United States. This made it a free for all and a disaster.
