“It’s Time to Invoke the 25th Amendment,” Buck Says on Biden

Anti-Biden impeachment Ken Buck forward a resolution urging Vice President Kamala Harris and the Cabinet to utilize the 25th Amendment to remove the ailing President from office. This move comes as a surprise as he was previously skeptical about Joe Biden’s impeachment.

Buck (R-Colorado) wants Harris to convene the cabinet and “declare what is obvious to a horrified Nation: That the President is unable to successfully discharge the duties and powers of his office.”

The Colorado lawmaker was also one of the three Republican representatives who voted against the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Chief Alejandro Mayorkas, just as he questions the legitimacy of Biden’s impeachment.

During an interview with Newsmax, Buck justified his resolution to invoke the 25th Amendment on Biden, saying “I’m not big on impeachment because I don’t see a high crime and misdemeanor.”

However, he further said, “I am big on this because Joe Biden walks up the stairs of Air Force One and stumbles. He walks around the White House aimlessly. People have to guide him.”

Buck believes that Biden has lost the “mental capacity… to govern.”

“I believe that the Vice President [Kamala Harris] should hold a Cabinet meeting and find that he is not able to serve,” the lawmaker said.

“That is a far more Constitutional and effective way of removing President Biden.”

In a statement, the Colorado representative added, “The societal challenges and security threats our country faces are innumerable and require a chief executive with both strong mental and physical faculties. The time has come for the vice president and the Cabinet to put our country first and move forward on invoking the 25th Amendment.”

Buck also cited the report by special counsel Robert Hur that exposed damning revelations on the president’s mental and physical fitness.

“The Hur report officially addressed what many Americans have long witnessed with their own eyes – that President Biden is no longer fit to successfully discharge the critical duties of his office. Numerous instances were articulated in the report, and have played out in full public view, showing President Biden’s apparent cognitive decline and lack of mental stamina,” blasted Buck.

Hurr declined to indict the President as he observed that Biden is a “well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory,” despite finding him guilty of mishandling classified documents.

The White House, including Biden himself, slammed Hur’s report, which highlighted the president’s cognitive incapacity, and criticized the media for overemphasizing this portion of the report.

The 25th Amendment was adopted in 1967 to provide for contingencies in the case of presidential death, removal, resignation, or incapacitation following the assassination of John F. Kennedy four years earlier.
