Conservative commentator and radio host Charlie Kirk just announced some life-changing news.
He and his wife Erika announced the birth of their first child when he came back to show on Monday.
“Well, I’m back,” he said. “Thank you guys for watching last week, we deeply appreciate it as always. Jack Posobiec did an amazing job of filling in.”
Posobiec is a former reporter for One America News and the current editor of Human Events.
“I’m going to tell you why I was off last week. I know a lot of different people were messaging us, and we appreciate your support of the show,” he said. “Last last week was a week that changed my life.”
“In a world where everything is put on social media, where everything is constantly being posted and being talked about, we made a decision—my wife and I—to keep one thing rather private. And I’ll tell you it was not easy. This was one of the more difficult things I think I’ve ever had to do. Not just keep it private and keep it something secret but also just kind of go through the process of all of that. Outside of some close family and friends, my wife Erica and I, we decided not to tell the world that she was pregnant,” the host said.
Kirk kept this news very secret from his audience but explained the reasons why.
“And we did that for a variety of reasons, some being security, and also just being that it’s not about social media. It’s not about the millions of people that might talk about it to get likes and to get shares and all of that,” the host said. “This was an experience they wanted to keep for themselves, without constant pings and notifications.
In June, Kirk announced that TPUSA would be launching Turning Point Academy, a K-12 private school that will teach a “classic, pro-American” curriculum along with a full rejection of critical race theory, “wokeism,” and “anti-American ideas.”
They are expecting more than 600 students in the fall and are partnering with Dream City Christian School in Arizona.
Fox News reported:
Kirk said Turning Point Academy will adhere to “bedrock principles,” including “never waver from the truth and to teach self-government and liberty to students” and reject critical race theory, “wokeism, deconstructionism, queer theory, radical LGBT agendas,” anti-American ideas, and more.
“Dream City Christian is an amazing collaborator in this project and we’re so grateful to do this together,” Kirk told the network. “They already have an amazing start, including a physical school, a faculty, and much of the groundwork laid.”
Many parents are looking for alternatives to public school in light of COVID-19 mandates, woke literature and school programs, and propaganda.
