It could well end up being the case that Nancy Pelosi’s days as a politician are numbered.

In fact, we recently reported that that over fifty members of Congress have elected (written ironically) to, in fact, not seek re-election in 2022. To be precise, it was fifty-five congresspeople in total. Of that fifty-five, it would break down to 6 U.S. Senator spots and 49 House lawmaker spots.

Finally, out of that 49 House lawmakers not running for re-election, a full 32 of them are Democrats. Of course, this means that there are 23 Republicans that will not be interested in re-election 2022.

For those interested in the actuarial, that would be 11.9% of the Democratic caucus. The 11.9% retirement rate among Democrats is the largest since 2014 when 8.5% of Democrats did not run for re-election.

It is now being reported by Newsmax that:

Former Rep. Devin Nunes told Newsmax that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., still needs to answer why Capitol Police did not take extra precautions before the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

During a Tuesday appearance on “Spicer and Co.”, Nunes was joined by Kash Patel, a former aide to the California Republican when he chaired the House Intelligence Committee. Later, Patel became a top official in former President Donald Trump’s White House.

“There was intelligence ahead of time that the Capitol Police should have known – which clearly Kash over at the White House, they knew, which is why President Trump authorized National Guard troops,” stated Nunes, the current CEO of Truth Social.

“You know there are tens of thousands of people coming, and you do nothing? And this is the question Nancy Pelosi is going to have to answer to because payback is going to be a ‘you-know-what’ if Republicans are successful this November,” he added.

Nunes also suggested that a new investigation into Jan. 6 is likely if Republicans take back the House, focusing on what the Justice Department knew and if it was collaborating with several Democratic members of Congress.

Meanwhile, Patel argued that as chief of staff of the Defense Department under Trump, his department “acted appropriately” based on the information it had leading up to the event.

“The American people have a right to know … how we acted appropriately on Jan. 4, 5, and 6 to include President Trump’s authorization of the National Guard that Nancy Pelosi and [Washington, D.C.] Mayor [Muriel] Bowser refused,” he pointed out.

So, it seems that Pelosi’s days might in fact be numbered in terms of re-election. It seems rather interesting, bordering on scandalous, that this mass exodus of Democrats would just happen to take places during a mid-term year.

This might give one to pause and question weather this massive political inconvenience to Pelosi was intentional or not.

We have often reported on the in-fighting taking place with the Democratic party, and this seems to be a particularly salient and noteworthy example of the fraction.

One might also wonder what the domino effect of this will mean for the Republicans. It would seem to this writer that it will clear the way for the Republicans to take over the Senate and the House, which will likely make further way for a 2024 re-election bid by… you guess it, Donald Trump.
