West Virginia Democrat Senator and the Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Joe Manchin on Tuesday released a statement criticizing Joe Biden’s decision to release 50 million oil barrels from the nation’s petroleum reserve.
He claims, the country could be getting around 900,000 barrels of oil every day if Biden hadn’t halted the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day of taking office.
“Today’s release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is an important policy Band-Aid for rising gas prices but does not solve for the self-inflicted wound that shortsighted energy policy is having on our nation. With an energy transition underway across the country, it is critical that Washington does not jeopardize America’s energy security in the near term and leave consumers vulnerable to rising prices. Historic inflation taxes and the lack of a comprehensive all-of-the-above energy policy pose a clear and present threat to American’s economic and energy security that can no longer be ignored.” Wrote Manchin in his statement.
“I continue to call on President Biden to responsibly increase energy production here at home and to reverse course to allow the Keystone XL pipeline to be built which would have provided our country with up to 900,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada, one of our closest allies.” He added.
America became energy independent for the first time in a while thanks to President Trump’s policies. The same policies were also responsible for record-breaking unemployment numbers and one of the best economies in recent history.
Sen. Manchin realizes this and calls out Biden for making America energy dependent on foreign actors like OPEC+
“To be clear, this is about American energy independence and the fact that hard working Americans should not depend on foreign actors, like OPEC+, for our energy security and instead focus on the real challenges facing our country’s future.” he concluded.
Under President Trump’s leadership, the country was not just energy independent for the first time, but also the gas prices were at an all-time low. Every day Americans never had to deal with gas shortage along with the supply chain issue that they are facing today thanks to Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan that is slowly destroying everything.

Good for him. He realizes thats Goofys decisions were basedd on his hatred for the real President Trump and not for the countrys good.
Virtually everything Biden has done is based on his Hate Trump mentality (or the Hate Trump mentality of his handlers).
Think more and more people are realizing what a semile and demented idiot he is but Im afraid our country cant handle another 3 years of him.
a lot of good thinking save gas for us, save jobs for us. why cant other people see that we are in a critcal time our life, does people care just filled up gas 40.00 for i tank, stay at home except Church, Doctor and Grocery Store that prices are sky high. what does everyone do but depend on God to show the light to some people.
Thanks goodness there is a democrat who has common sense.
Self sufficient oil and gas.
Manchin (and Sinema) makes too much sense for the rest of the Democrats. They are more concerned with pursuing their ideology than dealing with reality.
The oil wasn’t for America. It was going to be shipped overseas. If you don’t believe me just look at where they were going to ship the oil. To the golf coast in Texas. If it was for America there are over 20 refineries in states that border Canada tgat could process the oil.
