Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley faces another let-down as Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) endorses Trump in the 2024 presidential race ahead of the Republican primaries in New Hampshire.
“Is this Trump Country?” hyped the Republican senator.
“We need a President who will close our southern border today. We need Donald Trump,” declared Sen. Scott on Friday night.
“We need a president who will unite our country. We need Donald Trump,” pressed the South Carolina senator as the crowd cheered the former president at a campaign rally in New Hampshire.
Scott praised Trump for his immigration policies, social security, and war against crimes.
“We need Donald Trump!” chants Sen. Scott.
“That’s why I came to the very warm state of New Hampshire to endorse the next president of these United States – President Donald Trump.”
Trump expressed gratitude for the endorsement and called the senator a “very good man” and a “very respected man.” The former president, at the same time, blasted other Republicans for “wasting hundreds of millions of dollars” attacking him.
The GOP leader focused on Haley who was embroiled in controversy recently for allegedly selling out to the “deep state” and engaging in an “unholy alliance” with “RINOs” and “never-Trumpers.”
Before his endorsement, Scott attempted to compete against Trump for the Republican primaries but backed out in November after failing to attract support in recent surveys. Some speculated that the senator is aiming for the vice presidency.
His endorsement is a big blow to Haley, a fellow South Carolina Republican, who vowed to come out strong in the New Hampshire primary. Haley, who was serving as governor in 2012, appointed Scott to the Senate. However, their relationship turned sour as the senator decided to run against Haley in the 2024 presidential race.
The two got into a heated argument during a Republican debate in 2024. Scott criticized Haley’s record, to which the former governor responded, “Bring it, Tim.”
Haley swiped at Trump when asked for comment, accusing the Republican leading nominee of lining up with “all the Washington insiders.”
Truth is, everybody wants to jump on Trump’s train. Scott is the 25th Republican senator to endorse Trump. On Wednesday, Trump’s former campaign aide-turned DeSantis spokesman apologized for his betrayal and expressed his full support to the MAGA leader.

The New Hampshire primary is set for January 23. According to the recent polling averages, Haley is still trailing the former president. Trump’s polling average is at 48.9 percent, while Haley’s is only at 33.8 percent, far behind the New Hampshire polls is DeSantis with only 5 percent.
