Supreme Court Strikes Down Ban on Gun ‘Bump Stocks’

The Supreme Court delivers a massive blow on gun-hating leftists after Supreme Court hands a big win for 2nd Amendment supporters as it junks a federal ban on bump stocks.

The highest court in the US ruled that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) went beyond its limitations set by the constitution. In a 6-3 vote, with six right-leaning justices joining the majority vote while 3 leftists dissented.

In an opinion written by SC Justice Clarence Thomas, he noted that an accessory does not necessarily equate to the definition of a ‘machine gun’ according to the definition written under federal law.

“This case asks whether a bump stock — an accessory for a semiautomatic rifle that allows the shooter to rapidly reengage the trigger (and therefore achieve a high rate of fire) — converts the rifle into a ‘machinegun.’ We hold that it does not,” Thomas thundered.

“We conclude that semiautomatic rifle equipped with a bump stock is not a ‘machinegun’ because it does not fire more than one shot ‘by a single function of the trigger.'”

The National Rifle Association welcomed the ruling and remarked that the SC “properly restrained executive branch agencies to their role of enforcing, and not making, the law.”

But again, as expected, liberals met the ruling with howls of discontent.

Biden’s team again used the issue of children to support their campaign against the Second Amendment.

“Weapons of war have no place on the streets of America, but Trump’s Supreme Court justices have decided the gun lobby is more important than the safety of our kids and our communities,” Biden’s campaign spokesman Michael Tyler griped.

Meanwhile, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, one of the leftist judges who dissented from the ruling, compared the decision on bump stocks to a ‘duck.’

“When I see a bird that walks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck. A bump-stock-equipped semiautomatic rifle fires ‘automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger.’ Because I, like Congress, call that a machinegun, I respectfully dissent,” Sotomayor quacked.

In standard definition, bump stocks are gun stocks used to assist in bump firing. Generally, it replaces a rifle’s standard stock, allowing the weapon to cock and slide swiftly.

Meanwhile, under federal law, the sale of machine guns is prohibited and punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Previously, the Supreme Court refused to handle challenges to the bump stock rule.

They are also expected to decide on another gun rights case by the end of June.
