Republican governors in Florida and Texas expressed indignation over the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that will remove former President Donald Trump from the state presidential ballots for the 2024 elections.
GOP leaders are now calling to also remove Joe Biden from state ballots.
In an interview with Fox News, Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick recommends the removal of Biden from Texas’ 2024 ballot due to his failure to address illegal migration at the US-Mexico border.
Patrick added, “Seeing what happened in Colorado makes me think—except we believe in democracy in Texas—maybe we should take Joe Biden off the ballot in Texas for allowing eight million people to cross the border since he’s been president disrupting our state.”
“We are fed up.”
Political commentator Gunther Eagleman supports Patrick’s idea.
Florida’s Republican candidate for Congress, Anthony Sabatini also demands to remove Biden from Florida’s ballot too.
Speaking at the Westside Conservative Club last Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron de Santis also suggested the possibility of prohibiting President Joe Biden in the 2024 state ballot.
The governor raised the same justification the Colorado court used to remove Trump from their primary ballot.
“There was no trial on any of this?” said Desantis.
“They [the justices] basically said what, you can’t be on the ballot? I mean, how does that work?”
DeSantis argued that the Colorado ruling has no “limiting principle” and thus is applicable to remove Biden merely on perceived constitutional violations.
“Could we just say that Biden can’t be on the ballot because he let in 8 million illegals into the country and violated the constitution, which he has?” DeSantis said. “Can we just say, oh, well, they have money coming to Hunter [Biden]?”
Pennsylvania State Rep. Aaron Bernstine, Georgia State Rep. Charlice Byrd, and Arizona State Rep. Cory McGarr also move to remove the current president from the ballot following the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify Trump from appearing on the primary ballot.
In a joint statement, the three state representatives lambasted Colorado’s decision and said “The absurdity of radical Democrat judges removing Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado will be a stain on the American political system for decades. By their very own interpretation of the law, Joe Biden is 100% not eligible to run for political office.”
They added, “Democrats’ insane justification to remove Trump can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden for his “insurrection” at the southern border and his alleged corrupt business dealings with China.”
“Our objective is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow all candidates to be on the ballot in all states. To do that, we must fight back as Republicans against the Communists currently running our great country.”
Rep. Marjorie Greene said on Newsmax that red states can do the same with Biden with the ongoing impeachment inquiry against him and the border crisis.
The Colorado SC contentiously ruled to disqualify the GOP frontrunner from serving as US president and officially barred him on the primary ballot in the state. In the decision, judges allege that Trump had incited insurrection, which ultimately prevented him from holding public office.
This is despite the lack of any formal charges against Trump based on insurrection.
