Trump wins support from Medal of Honor recipients, highlighting military backing for 2024

In a significant show of support for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race, more than a dozen recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor have publicly endorsed his candidacy.

“We, 15 recipients of the Medal of Honor, having served this great nation in wars, support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States,” they stated unequivocally.

These distinguished veterans hail from various conflicts, including Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam, underscoring their deep commitment to the nation.

In addition to the Medal of Honor recipients, the Trump campaign has garnered endorsements from “hundreds of national security officials, ex-cabinet members, and Gold Star families,” further solidifying his standing among key military and security figures.

The Medal of Honor recipients articulated their beliefs with clarity: “We believe that American citizenship is a revered privilege. We believe that a patriotic nation is a strong nation. We believe that the sacrifices by the men and women in our armed forces preserves and protects American freedom.”

They continued, emphasizing the importance of integrity and commitment: “We believe that the integrity of our institutions is fundamental to the trust placed in them. We believe in the commitment to the United States Constitution and our solemn oaths to protect it. We believe valor is great fortitude when faced with profound adversity.”

Their message also highlighted the importance of honoring veterans: “We believe in the devoted pledge of allegiance to the United States of America. We believe that American veterans should be celebrated and supported by our nation.”

The recipients further asserted the necessity of national security: “We believe that our nation must have borders secure from our enemies.” They also championed the fundamental democratic principle of electoral integrity: “We believe in protecting the right for all citizens to participate in free and fair elections.”

In a pointed critique of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who has faced accusations of “stolen valor,” the recipients stated, “fabricating military service is beneath the dignity of a veteran and demeaning to those who have served honorably in the Armed Forces.”

They concluded with a resolute affirmation of their values: “We believe that the enemies of freedom must be defeated. We believe that the flag is a powerful symbol of freedom.”

In a powerful declaration of national pride, they proclaimed, “We believe the United States of America is the greatest nation the world has ever imagined. We believe in mutually pledging to every American our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

Finally, they made their stance clear: “We believe in Donald Trump.”

In contrast, the Harris-Walz campaign has touted endorsements from “a bipartisan group of more than 700 national security leaders and former military officials,” showcasing their own support base. However, when approached for comment regarding the Trump endorsements, the Harris-Walz campaign declined to respond.

As the 2024 election approaches, the endorsements from these Medal of Honor recipients serve as a powerful testament to Trump’s appeal among those who have served the nation with distinction.
