The latest whistleblower against the aircraft company came forward less than 24 hours before Boeing’s CEO Dave Calhoun testified in front of a Senate committee, the first hearing he has attended since the Alaska Airlines door panel blew open in January.
The new whistleblower, Sam Mohawk, is a Boeing employee and quality assurance inspector from Renton, Washington, according to a memorandum issued by Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut). He was assigned to Boeing’s Material Segregation Area.
Mohawk attested that the company utilized defective parts or materials for disposal or needed fixing before Boeing’s planes were used by the public.
The quality assurance inspector furthered that Boeing attempted to cover up these practices among Federal Aviation Administration regulators by hiding the defective parts and falsifying records.
Since January, the aviation company has been in hot water after their plans revealed several mechanical errors.
In his testimony, he alleged that Boeing consciously mishandled, improperly tracked, and stored faulty or “nonconforming” parts that were likely installed on planes, including the popular 737 Max, built at the Renton facility.
In a statement, the subcommittee remarked that “Mohawk has also alleged that he has been told by his supervisors to conceal evidence from the FAA and that he is being retaliated against as a result.”
As expected, Boeing, through its CEO, Calhoun, claimed, “In our factories and in our supply chain, we took immediate action to ensure the specific circumstances that led to this accident would not happen again.”

However, Mr. Mohawk’s testimony was not new, and he is not the first whistleblower to come forward and expose Boeing’s failed quality assurance. Furthermore, he wasn’t the first employee to be retaliated against by the multinational aviation company to silence them and protect their profits.
