Woke Democratic Boston Mayor Wants Criminals Scot Free

Woke Boston mayor, who has been in the post since 2021, had some ‘brilliant’ ideas on solving crimes in her area.

Mayor Michelle Wu has long upheld a soft-on-crime approach to penalizing criminal behavior, believing that theft does not warrant a prosecution and jail time.

Before being elected, Wu answered the 2021 Boston Mayoral Candidate Questionnaire, a set of questions prepared by Progressive Massachusetts to track and rank how ‘progressive’ government officials are.

Progressive Massachusetts is a nonprofit organization that advocates transforming the town into a laboratory for progressive state policies.

In the questionnaire, Wu enumerated her progressive commitments, which include allowing non-citizens to elect local Boston officials.

When asked if she would “support shuttering the Boston Police gang database?”

Wu confidently answered, “Yes.”

Another question was if she endorsed the policy memo, the do-not-prosecute list pushed by former Suffolk County district attorney Rachael Rollins.

Then-DA Rollins passed the policy memo identifying charges that she believes should not warrant prosecution, such as shoplifting, larceny, disorderly conduct, receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license, breaking and entering with property damage, wanton and malicious destruction of property, threats, minor in possession of alcohol, marijuana possession, possession with intent to distribute, non-marijuana drug possession.

The Biden administration took in the DA. However, she was forced to step down after an ethics probe found Rollins had done “egregious” ethical violations and “abuse of power.”

“Do you support the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office’s do-not-prosecute list and expanded approach to dealing with such low-level offenses? YES/ NO?” Progressive Mass wrote.

“Yes,” Wu replied.

Mayor Wu also favored the closing of the Boston Police gang database and supported the dismissal of all Boston Police Department employees who were allegedly involved in the January 6 demonstration.

The democratic mayor also asked police authorities to publicize records on the use of force and officers facing misconduct allegations.

The first female and Asian American to assume the position also listed down her most vocal critics and sent it to the police.

Wu faced backlash for her controversial responses.

For many, Wu’s policies endanger officers’ safety, and her so-called ‘critics list’ is one of her tactics to silence criticism and opponents.

However, Wu’s spokesman, Ricardo Patron, argued that “The list was made in response to a request from the Boston Police Department after the Mayor had been harassed and physically intimidated by individuals for several months outside her home…”
